Tonight's boss ate it up though. So cheers!
That I want Johnny in the band or that Steve's nice?
Cause both are true!
The only OLP member I've never met is Jer!
Raine and Duncan were awesome to talk to and Mike Eisenstein when I met him on the Trailer Park tour was probably the coolest dude out of all of them! He took a general interest in who we were, asked our names, even wrote it down and stuff, said he'd tell his wife that he's meeting really awesome fans etc... real stand up guy... then they dropped him!
I doubt that. He flirts with anything with boobs. But hey, you never know!

Oh Man. I did not know Steve's had a dating/mating service on here. You guys are way way funny..
I have met everyone in person( excpet Chris-original bass). Each memeber has good qualities and even bad ones. Depends what mood you get them in.
Mike T- Very friendly, fan oriented and extremely intelligent
Jeremy- Very funny, down to earth. If there was a class clown of the band Jer would be him. Jer sort of took over the fan connection on line after Mike left.
Duncan-very quiet, reliable, and extremely nice. Duncan is also in my opinion so under rated as a bass player..
Raine-some people say that Raine can come across as rude or seem mean at times. He has always been nothing but kind to me. For most part he is nice.He does have days when he is not in a good mood. Very down to earth and does have a sense of humour. People hardly see that side of him..
Steve-No Comment. LOL.. All joking aside. Steve is a nice guy-but he has his days.He is moody.. I feel he has come along way since being in the band. People do not realize that Steve plays on alot of different people's cds and with alot of his friends in L.A.. This upcoming cd will sort of be his coming out party.. The last cd was really his first time in a studio with a band.. He was still a little green then.. This one I think we will see a side of him not there before..
outside players
Jamie Edwards-personally a very quiet down to earth guy.. Music wise he is extremely talented. OLP finding him was like a diamond in the rough.. Multi talented. Jamie now plays with Amee Mann..
Mike E.-hired after Jamie left. Mike is a talented guitarist and very friendly. PLays with his wife in the band Letters To Cleo. He also has played with a few other acts over the years..
Joel S-Joel played with OLP on their last cd and tour. Joel is one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He is an extremely talented singer, player and writer. He is the leader of L.A band Pedestrian..Joel also played with ALanis Morrisette for 5 years, ALexis Murdoch, Damien Rice and a few others here and there..
There was also Jason and Rob who filled in for Duncan and Jeremy when they were unable to play. Jason now drums with Chris Cornell and the LA band RUN Through The Desert.. Rob played with several Toronto bands over the years. The last one being Dearly Beloved..
Shanae.. There were 3(4) mags with OLP on the cover. This one, The year end issue 2000 with Naked Duncan, The Feb 2002 or 2003 issue with Raine and the Sept 2005 issue. There were also afew snips of them here and there over the years..

Haha. I think the world of Duncan. I enjoy talking to him more than anyone else. Jeremy and Steve have always been very nice and enjoyable to be around. I've spoken with Raine once, and he was nice too. Joel is the man, he is so personable and friendly, amazing guy.
<nam_kablam> I'll be naked holding a ":O" sign while pumping their door
gotta agree with Matty here. Duncan is incredibly personable and has a great sense of humor and i dont know what it is, a spark about him. I think of everyone he is the least affected by 'fame'. Joel is up there too. This is not to say the rest of the members are not also nice people, they are.

Didn't Steve have multiple eye contact moments with someone at Toronto Edgefest? I'm thinkin Shelly or Kathy?
Steve also told Lori she was amazing or insirational or something to that effect at the Drake show.
He also remembered meeting me in Cbus when we saw him at the Metro the day after Edgefest.
As for Duncan we talked a little classic rock and John Entwistle after a Columbus show. And glady posed for a picture. (Which I can't remember if I ever saw it since it's not in my archives)
Jer cracked some jokes here and there, Raine was in his cool/subdued/almost could care less self but was talking to some girls hanging off him. I think Steve just made a quick cameo after that show only to walk off with some hot blonde.

But I'm a vegetarian! I don't smell like turkey!!!!
Also, on the "Steve eye contact" thing... he's always making eye contact with the audience. One of the few musicians who does that. Duncan does it, too. It's nice.

I think what made OLP so good in the 1990's is that Turners guitar work was more of a catalyst for the lyrics, while now everything is centered around Maida, and I don't think he's talented enough to carry the band on his own.
If the next album stinks, at least we'll have the great work from the Big 4. I hope it's good.
Well I really like "Monkey Brains", I think they did a great job embodying a "modern Naveed" feel with that song... Duncan does some great bass in the live version... the only thing I don't like is the slow-down in the middle that is kinda reminiscent of Raine's solo work which I wish he'd keep separate. And BTW for you Steve haters he does an excellent job in that song (which is live, so I expect the studio to be even better).
