Wow, the quality of that video/audio is crap. At the moment it doesn't sound that appealing. Although I'm sure if it's going to be on the album it will be very cleaned up.

Yeah, doesn't sound all that appealing to me either. But then it is only a clip.. From about 1:52 to the end of it, I did actually feel something. Which I suppose is a good sign.

From what I could actually hear, I'm not to sure about it at the moment... although, as Illusion said, at least it's a rock song.

Also, I've heard that there was another song by the name of White Flag that was played, so it'll be interesting to hear that once it surfaces. Plus, tonight they're playing, so maybe more new songs will be played, or at least a better quality version of this one.

On a side-note, on one of that guy's other videos, Raine was playing acoustic guitar on Naveed!

They played that one and White Flag again tonight.
The Right Stuff is lots of fun live. Repetitive enough to sing along even though I never heard it before!

White Flag was less catchy, but I really liked the harmonies on the chorus. Hopefully they'll be nice and balanced if it makes the cd.

Holy shit they did a great job on the older songs in this concert. But I must say the new material thus far is pretty disappointing. At least in comparison to their pre-2005 stuff.

But holy shit, I just gotta give kudos to Steve in his performance of "One Man Army" at the concert, seriously check this shit out, especially at 1:16:

Hmm. I'll reserve my judgment until we hear a good quality version of the song. Nothing ever sounds good if you've never heard it before and that's the quality you get.

That being said, I'm not digging the lyric "the right stuff"... at all. Like Soozy said... it's NKOTB. I simply cannot take it seriously.

One Man Army comes off pretty well live with only the 4 of them. It kind of feels like its missing a little, but it's still petty good.

the right stuff was such a catchy song. they had everyone singing along even though no one had heard the song before. i wish i had recorded it, though my audio quality wouldn't have been much better

It seems to have a decent structure, and a decent hook... but I just can't get over that lyric. It literally makes me cringe. :uhh:

Makes you wonder if the next CD is going for quantity vs quality. They stress that they don't do demos and only spend so much time on a song. They could just push out a bunch of songs, some of which may not be the best (and they know, which maybe they play on tour now to see what people think?). Who knows. I don't mind the chorus, but I can't hear the lyrics too well.

I like "The Right Stuff", its a catchy song, but not in the over the top poppiness of Innocent.

Hm. So I just watched that video of "The Right Stuff" again (saved it, it's on the hub now if anyone wants it). I've decided two things:

1) I'm actually embarrassed of those chorus lyrics. I typically barely even notice lyrics, but these are just so cringeworthy that I find myself actually embarrassed by them. I really hope I can get over this, or even better, I hope they change them.

2) That guitar solo doesn't fit. I'm usually for throwing a guitar solo in any and every song (go Stever!), but this particular solo doesn't work in this song... it almost seems contradictory.

That being said, this song really is very catchy. I really like the rhythm of the chorus.

Anyone agree? Disagree? Thoughts?
