Only problem with buying it in Canada is it's going to be fucking $199. I am NOT paying $30 more when our cash is worth the same, goddammit.

Here's what I'll do. I'll go to the USA, but 6000 copies of the game with our superior dollar and sell them at 5 dollars more than the US price. That way I can make 5 dollars profit! Woo.......................

consumer products arent likely to see a price drop as quickly given the volatility of the dollar and the associated costs of owning stores, taxes, etc.. the stores still need to make money and cant really hedge their bets on the dollar remaining high and lower costs with the dollar because then they'd get screwed if the dollar falls (which it eventually will given the cyclical nature of currencies)

So, I got a new xbox 360 today as a replacement for my old system. Well needless to say, this 'new' system doesn't work which leads me to believe that:

A. My power cable is shot and i need a new one, despite the fact that there is power going into the system(details later)

B. My power cable isn't shot and Microsoft didn't bother to replace the system.

C. The serial number does not match with the previous one, which means that I infact do have a new console, which doesn't work or Microsoft switched Serial Numbers and sent my old one back to me.

Now, as I said there is power into the console, but the system is not booting up. The only thing that turns on is the RROD and its just basically like turning on a light switch. So, could my power cord be shot or am I being screwed up the arse by the Big M?

wtf
do you know anyone around town with a 360 to test your power cable theory out?
although if theres power going to the system it seems unlikely thats the problem.. although having said that my net died for the past while in a similiar circumstance.. the cable runs through a box that converts it from a co-ax cable to a standard telephone wire.. i had a power surge cause a spark in the box, which caused problems to the line and to my net.. they tried different modems and it didnt work, finally they bi-passed the box and manually connected the cable to a telephone wire and it works now

btw there was a signal going through the box just not one that was usable but now it connects fine

but when it comes to a power cable they tend to be "all or nothing" or at least close to it.. i just dont see it lighting up to begin with if the cable is off, unless theres something more seriously wrong with the cable

Unfortunately, I don't know anyone with a cable. Anyways, I called tech support again and they're sending out a cable to me, and they evey put a rush on it.

It is, actually, possible that its the cable. It seems far fetched, but its possible.

Heres the think; I got 2 red lights (so not a the RROD) twice during power outages. During both outages my damn 360 was on. haha. Freaked me out when I saw the red lights, but the system rebooted perfectly fine.

It better be a power cord issue, dude. I've heard of very few people having as much trouble as you're having.

Ok, so, the Ratchet and Clank demo is freakin awesome. I've never played a R&C game before, but this demo makes me want to go out and get all of them. The controls are tight, animations are smooth, combat is great and the graphics... it's like playing a Pixar movie. I can't wait to pick this one up.

Also, in the one spot that uses motion controls, it's actually really responsive... so don't blame the controller for shitty motion controls in other PS3 games. It can be done right!

So on Monday, Microsoft's Specialist Team are going to call me in order to get my 360 issue resolved.

Five months and I still haven't received a properly working console. :(

No shit? Man, I need to play! My 360 is on the "verge" of dying, though. I'll get the 3 quadrants red, 4 quads red, but then after rebooting the system several times it'll work. Then, after shutting it off do the same thing the next time. haha! Its gonna die, I'm just waiting for it to finally happen.

So....I'll be joining ya'll in the RROD record-books. Curse them bastards.

GH3 demo due on the XBLM sometime today. Woo hoo!!!

Early on reviews are actually coming back rather mediocre for Assassin's Creed. I'm getting worried bout that title.

** ROCK BAND/GH3 NEWS **

First, GH3 had two 3-song packs added; one is a Velvet Revolver pack which includes "Slither" and "She Builds Quick Machines." The other is a Foo Fighters pack which includes "The Pretender" and "All My Life". Both packs also include a third lesser known track. I'm not sure if PS3 has these track packs already or if its just the 360.

Rock Band has already announced MORE packs/single songs which will be available for download upon the game's release.
