1) It was posted in Mississauga on Friday
2) We've had postal strikes for the past week. I think the inbound foreign post part wasn't working one day and there were no deliveries to my house yesterday.
3) I'm still waiting for 2 CDs that were posted from the UK 2 1/2 weeks ago!
I thought I'd be waiting weeks.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.
And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.
That email had a password for the pre-sale a day or two earlier. That is why I put it here. Not to mentioned the show-but the pre-sale code.
I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again Teach the young people how to think, not what to think-Sidney Sugarman
I was just wondering the other day what happened to When Hollywood Runs Out of Indians ... and now I know! It's turned into my fave track on the album.
I've listened to the album a few times now and it's not making me cry any more which is good, and there are some really good tracks - especially Champions of Nothing. I'm not so sure about the track with Ryan or the Dead Kennedys cover though. It's weird hearing the words from his art turned into songs though.
I need to listen some more and resist the urge to just stick Champions of Nothing on repeat

I've enjoyed the album a lot. The only thing I don't like is the over-use of the random audio samples. It was a great idea for Rooms, and for 21st Century Living, but for me it lost it's originality. Otherwise, I think you can hear and feel the stuff Matt has had to deal with in the last year on a lot of tracks. It's well worth the buy in my opinion, and I'm glad to see it ranks #1 in Canada.

The album is great. It's probably the most emotional album I own, which is weird because I don't know the guy. It certainly doesn't make me cry but the imagery is just so vivid in many of the songs it's hard not to feel like you know Matt.
I think The Boy Come Home and Metal Airplanes are my two favourites. I find myself forced to sing "so don't you mind the gap when you leave..." whenever I get on the subway to go to work, which causes me to have the song playing in my head for a while.
I've never been a big fan of Black Helicopter however. I'm looking forward to seeing him at Massey. It should be an interesting set especially if he's able to learn as much of the songs as he has listed.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

I was out cd shopping today.
I saw the new cd, and had it in my hand to buy it.
Then I remembered I listen to metal and got the human abstract instead.

Things here are good. My girlfriend and I have a place in downtown Toronto right in front of the Skydome/CN Tower, and I just finished a 2 month stint working for the Ontario Government, so now I'm back to being unemployed.
Congrats by the way on your upcoming wedding.

I can find the CN tower from the Metropolitan. I'll have to visit next time I'm in town. Thanks for the congratulations. I hope you find your dream job soon!

Hey, is it very hard to meet Matt before/after shows? I'm going to see him on Sept. 30th and if I can snag a copy of Hospital Music beforehand I'd like to attempt to get it autographed..

Find his tour bus and hang out near it after the show. Once a small crowd forms he'll usually open the door and sit on the steps of the bus to meet people and sign stuff. Last tour there were a few shows where, for obvious reasons, he didn't feel up to doing that. But most often he'll meet fans after shows. I've seen him twice and met him both times.
