Finished it. Man, definitely my favourite book out of the series. Dragged a bit in some parts, but when it got rolling.. damn..

Highlight for spoilers: My favourite part in the whole entire series is when Harry learns that he has to die, and he just steels himself and goes to face death and summons the spirits(?) of his dead relatives and friends for reassurance... "I am about to die." Damn, man...

Was actually kind of hoping he'd really die, and almost thought he would for a moment.. but it is, after all, a children's book.

for some reason it was deemed to be a good idea to broadcast what happens in the book on one of the english language news channels here.. im not sure if the same was done in other languages but im going to go ahead and assume so... they mentioned who died and who didnt well parts of that atleast.. i only flipped the channels but since i watch the news a lot i ended up finding out more than i wanted to... even tho ive never read any of the books haha.. its still just idiotic to do that.. although this probably is a cultural thing and would explain why one of my cousins has a penchant to explain whats going to happen in a movie while im watching it... usually i want to find a nearest dull object and beat his head but i somehow refrain
go fuck yourself.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

Put it in black text anyhow. I think I know what's gonna happen cause my dad insited on talking about it what he'd heard on the news with me in earshot. Anyhow, black text please!

I just finished :D
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

I just finished too. Oh my gosh I feel so drained! That was a freaking awesome ending. I totally guessed what was going to happen overall, BUT it unfolded in such a great way. Wow. I am so sad it's over now.

I can't wait to see how the movie handles 'the close'. Dan Radcliffe's acting has been getting way better so I have faith that he'll nail it.

I just hope that when (if) they put Godric's Hollow in the movie, they'll have Harry visiting his parents' graves as himself and not some polyjuiced middle-aged muggle. It'll be more effective, imo

Or one amazing actor, to pull that off.

I am still thinking about the intricacies and I am not sure if I got quite everything. I'm still not sure about the crying wounded infant in the fake, Dumblore inhabited, Kings Cross. I was thinking it was Voldemort going to the same place because the same thing happened to them... I am also very upset that we didn't find out if Neville and Luna hooked up! And where in the heck did Teddy live all those years if he only eats with them twice a week!?

Ok, so my very favorite thing is that Harry named one of his kids Albus Severus. So fitting. Harry finally appreciated the difficulties Snape went through and did actually turn out to be a decent sort of guy struggling against his own flaws.

I thought the epilogue read too much like a fanfiction. Then again, I was kinda hoping for Harry to actually die so *shrug*.

I'm pretty sure the infant represents the part of Voldemort that was in Harry. IIRC his form was similar to that in GoF before he got his body back.

i've read somewhere, although i'm not sure how reliable it is, that jk rowling is going to release an encyclopedia eventually about the pasts of some of the characters that weren't shared before, as well as what happens to all the characters during that nineteen year period at the end. i hope it's true.
