Sony NOW announces that by the end of July, no more 60GB (now, the cheaper) version of the PS3 in North America.

Suckers........

This was mis-quoted. According to Joystiq, they received word from another Sony Exec. that the 60GB PS3 is not leaving North America at the current time. So, times should be currently safe to get the reasonable PS3.

Yeah, I knew that couldn't be correct from what I was watching on G4's E3 coverage.

I want to buy a Wii and it's insane how they're still practically always out of stock everywhere.

Hmmm, I don't know if I want to deal with Futureshack again.

Perhaps I'll go with best buy.

All I hope is that I can find one!

Actually, Kaz and Harrison apparently confirmed that it IS, in fact, true. I can't believe this.......Sony is messed up.

According to the 4th update that Joystiq has gotten; the 60GB 499.99 system will be eliminated after the current stock runs out.

They are freaking mental....I'm not understanding Sony's gameplan for 2007.

I was just playing then boom, the surge hits and I get the RROD. Worse yet, I can't even get my disc out of the tray.

I just read about it. I don't understand this either. I think it's to get their sales numbers up. If they left the price drop last for a while they don't think they'll move a lot of systems, because people wouldn't be hurrying to buy one. The dumb thing is how for 20gbs more of space they're going to charge the original price which is like paying 100 bucks for 20gbs. Lame.

So I just got a PS3. It came with a Blu-Ray (either POTC1, POTC2 or Bridge to Terabithia so obviously I got POTC 1) and we got a cheap deal on a second controller (half price!). My dad still needs to buy the HDMI cable but still I am impressed with this machine. It runs so ridiculously quiet, it's way quieter than my PC and even my PS2. I'm holding off on buying any games till some better stuff comes out, so for now it's serving as a Blu-ray player/DVD upscaler. I really don't want to drop the dough on Resistance or Motorstorm since although they are fun games, they're not my kind of games (for an example of how stingy I am, I have had my PS2 for well over five years and own 6 games for it).

Yeah, might as well buy the games you're really into. As for me, I'm an all out gamer. I have over 100 ps2 games.

I have like 20 PS1 games but I'd say 85% of them are burned. Mod chip whee.

I love how Sony's offering old PS1 games up for download on the Playstation Store. I'm definitely getting MediEvil, and hopefully they'll release Final Fantasy VII.
