That's one of the reasons you can play the story mode (campaign mode) online. So that if you don't have anyone to play split screen on you can still play hardcore and insane. You also actually HAVE to use cover wisely, flank the enemies and be very accurate on the tougher difficulties. On casual you can run and shoot a lot and it doesn't seem like that deep of a game. Until you actually step up the difficulty. The graphics are also by far the best graphics for any 360 game so far.

As for my gamertag I'm just using a one month trial right now. I have two 12 month cards I'm saving with my bro, for when Halo 3 gets closer, but we'll probably activate one once this month one is up so that I can still play Gears online. The gamertag I actually use even though it's only silver right now, is Power Daniels though. I used to have a kickass one called Super Magnum PI back when Halo 2 was new, but it expired and they won't let me have it back. I had Taylor on my friends list back then too.

As for the 99 bucks for the legendary version of Halo 3. Depending on how cool the helmet is, I might buy it, I'm going to get the collector's edition anyway, so if the helmet is cool it might be worth the few extra dollars.

Yeah, I've heard "gears" is a lot more technical; and you have to actually work to get through the levels versus the whole "run and gun" philosophy. Well, I subscribe to "GameZnFlix" so.....I have "gears" next on my queue so I can check it out. I passed on buying it the other night for "Call of Duty 3" which is going to look amazing on my HD-TV I'm getting for Christmas. I can't freakin wait.

Lando.......you gonna buy them Burger King games? Or hell, is Canada even able to? If you want them I could perhaps hook you up; or hell, you could probably find them on ebay anyways.

And peoples.....check out the sweet gen-war signature I got. It's updated every minute, so now we can all keep tabs on how the market share plays out. See how long it takes for PS3 to take the lead.

Unless Merril Lynch is right....

Oh and Lando, my gamertag is Clumsy 7Twitch.....so, feel free to add me now or when you go gold.

Ok, so I played a 360 today at Future Shop. Played the FNR3 demo. The graphics look nice, but the PS3 graphics that I saw in a video online looked nicer. I don't like the 360's controller- I don't understand why they put the left analog where the D-Pad usually is. It feels awkward, and it just doesn't seem to fit right.

I still think the PS3 is worth the money given everything it's offering, but I'm not holding my breath for the next few days after launch to be uber successful. I was predicting that the PS3 would have a slow launch, but if Sony can pull a price drop.. and once the big titles like MGS4 and FFXIII get released, I think the PS3 will start selling more.

I'm a anything-but-Sony-fanboy.......i have about a dozen solid screenshot comparisons of the PS3 versus the 360; its quite interesting.

Another drawback on the PS3 is that if you do not have the proper HD-TV, you won't even be able to run the PS3 at what its worth.

Bottom line is that if you have one of the strongest, most expensive, televisions on the market; you've paid what the PS3 is truely worth because only then can you tell ANY (not joking, any) difference between the PS3 and the Xbox 360.

I think Sony is gonna eat a grand ass of money for a while (losing appx. 230 bucks per PS3 sold) and not only that; they took a huge risk with going Blu-Ray.

People aren't looking into Blu-Ray in the long run; its all about HD. It'll only be a matter of time before HD-DVDS take over for standard def. DVDs.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's the same font.

But Spidey is Sony Pictures anyway, right?

This is true, but 1080p and 1080i aren't a big enough difference for anyone to say that Sony has a better console because of resolution, they both do High Def that's what matters. The Wii doesn't.

Neil wrote:I think Sony is gonna eat a grand ass of money for a while (losing appx. 230 bucks per PS3 sold) and not only that; they took a huge risk with going Blu-Ray.

Of course they are, all companies take a loss for their systems, although Sony thinks that the amount they're losing won't be that bad because they're offering up blu-ray, however until either HD-DVD or Blu-Ray become the standard, people aren't going to buy anything, since they already have standard DVD which will be just fine for a few years.

Neil wrote:People aren't looking into Blu-Ray in the long run; its all about HD. It'll only be a matter of time before HD-DVDS take over for standard def. DVDs.

[/quote]

Now here's where you're probably wrong. Sony has it's own film studio now and it controls the majority of the market share with other studios already signed on for Blu-Ray. A lot more than HD-DVD has. Also you should be specific when you say "it's all about HD" HD stands for High Def, Blu ray and HD-DVD are both High def, so not to confuse anyone, I'm sure you meant the HD-DVD format. The thing is, with Sony having way more studios set to release their movies on Blu-ray and them having their own studio, it will definitely be apparent to consumers once more movies start coming out on these High def formats. You'll see way more Blu-ray discs in stores or advertised than you'll see HD-DVD. The biggest trouble with HD-DVD is that Microsoft didn't get a studio to pick up the Halo movie. Which could have helped them move into the film industry. However, their first attempt at making a movie with studio backing failed. It's going to hurt them. People also won't buy an add-on HD-DVD player for their 360 as quickly as they would buy something that feels like an all-in-one package like the PS3. In this case, it's the rabbid fanboy XBOX supporters that will be buying the majority of the HD-DVD add-on units. Because of all these things, they're going to even have less market share than originally expected.

Blu-ray is a better format in pretty much all ways. Including the space it can hold. It will probably be the next format. I can almost guarantee it. Which is why it was an unnecessary add-on for microsoft to add a built in HD-DVD player (it would've upped the cost of the 360 which is not necessary) Just like it is for Nintendo to add a DVD player into the Wii.

Lando,

My gamertag; yup, theres a space after clumsy. Clumsy (space) 7Twitch.

Well, the Burger Kings' in the states are selling three xbox games that were produced by Blitz Games and also by B.K.'s own King Games.
The three titles are for sale for 3.99 each with the purchase of a value meal.
I have two out of the three already, and while being completely cheesy they aren't the worst thing I've ever played, actually.

One is titled "Pocketbike Racer" and its a racing game mainly using mo-peds, I believe.

Second is a game titled "Big Bumpin" and its a bumper cars game. Not just basic bumper cars; it has several cool variations like bumper car hockey and last man standing.

The third is titled Sneak King. You play the role of the king, himself. You get sent on various missions, at different locales, and have to try and come up with creative methods to surprise hungry people with B.K. food. Its very amusing because when you do surprise somebody, the King pulls off a wicked little dance; especially if you pull off the highest level surprise.

You're probably better off getting them off ebay, if you're interested. They are selling for about the same rate as they are at B.K.; however if you have any trouble let me know and I'll see what I can do.

If you go to IGN.com or gamespot.com I believe both sites gave full reviews and have screenshots on the titles.

It's been estimated that Nintendo is making $100 off of every Wii they sell.

Gears is awesome. And yes, its a completely different game on harcore or insane. Although, its not completely impossible to do it solo. I just finished hardcore solo and am making my way through act 2 on insane. Saying that, Insane is well...a lesson in patience.

Hence the 'just about'. I was referring to the fact that it's a common practice for companies to take a loss on consoles and to make it up with game sales. I figured the Wii wouldn't be made at a loss since they took a hit on graphical quality and have no DVD features to keep the cost down.

Oh yeah......you guys will like this.

New game store just opened in my town. Thing is....most businesses in this town that are independently owned will last 6 months, if that.

I have a good feeling about this place......they're gonna host gaming tournaments and shit.

So....for the grand opening, starting yesterday, they had a Madden 2007 tournament.

I signed up....what the hell, I have the game, I'm decent.

I got OWNED by a 13 year old kid. He was the Chargers and I was the Eagles.

52-16

Winner of the tourney gets a free Premium Xbox360.

The next tourney is a Halo2 team tourney........and the winning team gets a trip to NYC to one of the MLG events. Wish me luck.

Oh......and did ya'll hear the news about Sony? ("the godfather of PS" getting the boot?)

Sounds like a sega-like move to me. Remember what happened with Sega after the Dreamcast; when they're "godfather" got replaced?

Hmmmm...

Also, congrats to the Wii for reportedly crossing the million-sold threshold.
