I love it. Earthless is still my favorite, but they are all good. Very different from OLP but at the same time amazing. This style has grown on me, and sex love and honey is catchy, upbeat, clappy, more singing than second chances. Careful what you wish for, gots a creepy feel with the piano, but still good. I think his voice is more prominent on these tracks than one second chance

Random Name wrote:$4 for 4 songs? Pretty much standard...not really a deal....

In terms of the download price it's pretty standard, but a $5 CD is pretty good, though certainly not really uncommon of especially with indie artists.

i keep hearing the flying monkeys in careful what you wish for. there is a definite creepiness to it...i also hear msn message sounds. Oh i have figured out the sound it isnt flying monkey but rather one of the spirits from the Allistar Simms version of A Christmas Carol.

WOW Christine. That does sound interesting.. I am getting the CD today..

Made it up here. A bit cold for me. It was very warm in NYC this morning..

I am also seeing your boy Joel on Monday. I am looking forward to that.

Later. I will let you know how the Raine's stuff goes over live..

Hey Gail, do say hi to Joel and make sure there is a big turnout for the gig. His shows are under attended on this tour.

will do.. Looking forward to it. Heard Blair is drumming for them now..

Okay so last night I saw the opening night of the tour. I really dug Raine's stuff. Yes it is differrent then the stuff he did with OLP, but it was really good. He opened up with reading 2 poems about 2 people in his life.. First one was about a young girl and her struggles.. 2nd one was about a teenage boy and his struggles. I hope he puts them on his page cause they do make you think.. He did another piece(not on EP) then playd the songs off the EP. He also did another song called WHO SOLD YOU OUT.. Chantal plays piano on One Second Chance/WHO Sold YOu Out. Earthless sounds amazing done live.. . It really songs good live.. They also had her violin, cello and drummer play with him..

Raine also plays bass on afew of Chantal's song. It really is a great show..

I personaly think you will like it..

Today's quote about Raine. He is Sex-ON-LEGs..

OMG that is too funny. This is from Jam's sexiext Canadian man alive top 10. Raine was #8..

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

If I went to a rock concert and someone started reading poems, I wouldn't be happy.

But I dont think I'm their target audience anymore...

yep that had me laugh out loud also> I posted a comment about it on his page.. LOL.. If I see him after the show I am going to say something about it..I did see them drive in.. Underground so not sure will see them leave. They are driving to the shows from Toronto. Raine is drving.. They seem to be getting to the venues for a 4ish soundcheck. Got there about 3:30 today. Yesterday was 4ish.. Just in case you are interested. Also OLP crew guys are working this tour.

I might come up for the Massey Hall show..

Sarah -- Chantal's audience is mostly older people. There was this woman who actually was sleeping through the first half of the show.> I would never pay that much to see a performer and sleep.. NEVER. I can sleep at home for free

The poems weren't bad.. I keep thinking of a quote from a fan years back that said Raine could read teh ingridents off a cereal box and they be happy.. :P

My first thoughts on this...

Sex Love and Honey: I like this one more than the two on his Myspace I think, but wtf is going on with the crap with the "do dooo"s and recorder. Don't use recorders in your songs ever again. Some of the vocals sounded silly to me, I don't know how else to word it. Not as silly as that damn recorder though.

Careful What You Wish For: He should've got Jer to do the "la la la" part. I think the music had some good ideas here.

One Second Chance: I like the part from 1:10 - 1:15 but that's it as far as the verses go. It's all names, but the rhythm works well I think. Still not a fan of the claps in the chorus. Really like the bridge.

Earthless: I dunno, wasn't paying attention. That happens every time I listen to this song.

Definitely had an indie sound to it. A couple spots seemed poorly executed or poorly mixed, but just very minor things. I think it was better than I was expecting it to be.
