Then follow it up by saying their music has saved your life.

Better yet, ask them how many people have come up to them to say that their music has ruined their lives.

I bet it's a smaller number, but those people would probably be more honest.

hey all - a chat with Raine and Steve has been confirmed for this Wednesday @ 4pm. If it goes well (meaning they get good questions instead of "did you know your site blows?!") we might have a second one with Jer and Duncan. Hopefully we'll have a better chat time and more notice on a second chat

Because of the late notice and the time chosen, I'm sure participation will be low. The guys know that too, but there were no other days/times available. Anyone who cannot attend or who is not a member of .net, please feel free to PM me with questions... I'll submit them to the band during the chat.

Stinky time chosen. There is no way I would be able to join in. I think it's great that you guys have got a live chat worked up. However, I don't see why it would be schedule it at a time when everyone knows that participation will be low. I do understand that we will be able to submit questions for you to give to the band, but if no one is around to read it while it's being answered, what is the point. It would possibly be more fruitful just to do a huge update to Ask OLP Asks, and do a live chat when you can get a lot of real-time participation. I'll be excited to read the transcript, but disappointed I couldn't enjoy it as it happened. Are there plans to do one in the future at a time when more people will be able to join in?

Yes Matt, it's definitely stinky. I TOTALLY understand your concerns, and believe me, we TRIED to get something later. Lindsay and I work full time just as a lot of members do... I can't even participate without lying to get out of the office. We've gone back and forth with Ultrastar/Coalition to get a later time or a different day but Raine is unavailable in the evenings and wants to do a chat before he goes on the November tour.

Part of the reason for doing it is that the guys want to learn the chat module and get a feel for what it's like to do the chat with the .net folks... even on a small scale. We hope that they have a positive experience so that we can do a second chat with Jer and Duncan, and potentially more chats later on. If the chat doesn't go well or their experience is negative, then we'll likely not have further opportunities.

And we're definitely hoping that if we can get a Duncan/Jer chat planned, we'll have more notice and an evening timeslot.

That's cool. As long as you tried to get a better time, then I understand. Good idea for a training tool. I hope they want to take a more active participation in stuff like that. Maybe Joel and Steve could do one in the evening sometime since they are both in the area. I know Joel isn't officially a member, but he might as well be.

i still think it's awesome that you guys were able to a live chat with the band. it's been a long time since something like this was arranged - back in the days of mike, i think. i'm not a member of .net, and i don't really have any questions for the guys, but i would've liked to see their responses to the questions asked. are you planning to release a transcript of the chat later, kathy?

I think the transcript will be made available. Someone will post here, if that's ok with Kathy and Lindsay.

yay Sonya!

Got any good/fun/interesting questions to ask? Everyone I've talked to who wants to participate just wants to sit back and watch/read... there won't be much to read if everyone does that
