So I was about to breakdown and buy myself an MP3 player since I saw the Creative Zen Nano for a good price.
I'm going over the specs for it and it say it has recording capabilities.
So then it kinda hits me that I could use this to record concerts and what not.
But then it hits me that my camera also has recording capabilities and sounds like complete crap when you record a concert or anyhting noisy since it overloads the mic.
So I thought I'd check here to see what kind of equipment you guys have to record concerts with.
Matt - What did you have before you were raped of your recorder at Edgefest? What kind of cost am I looking at?
Looking for primarily a MP3 player first and a recorder 2nd but if I'm going to record I want some decent quality out of it.
Suggestions?

I have a Sony MZ-RH10 Hi-MD recorder. It transfers music over a USB cable, so you have no quality loss. It also functions as an mp3 player. It uses 1gb Hi-MD discs, and also supports standard mini discs, both of which are rewriteable. However, you can't tranfser recordings on standard mini discs with the USB cable. I bought mine on eBay for around $298.
I can also recommend the Microtrack 24/96. I don't own one, but it does seem to be a very good recorder. It uses a compact flash memory card, so you have no moving parts, which can be very helpful if it is exposed to a lot of jerking or shaking. These run around $400 on eBay.
The mics I use are Core Sound Stealthy Binaural mics. I think I spent around $275 on them, maybe a little over $300.
Josh can make good suggestion on standard mini disc recorders, and maybe some other microphones that run at a lower price, but still provide quality audio.
