Questions about background "lyrics"

Post by raineshower »

The 2 songs in question are "Sell My Soul" and "Wipe That Smile Off Your Face"

At the 2:26 point of "Smile" until 2:36, Raine is saying something behind the music... anyone know what it is?

Same thing goes for at the beginning of "Sell My Soul".

Anyone?

If you play the record backwards, you can hear Raine giving you his recipe on how to make a delicious bundt cake with mint frosting.

I remember we talked about it here but I dont know if anyone actually came up with anything. Its when people starting playing with the songs and their speakers.

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything

Haha, no I didn't mean to make one of those "YOU N00B, WE ALREADY HAVE A THREAD ABOUT THAT" posts, I was just trying to help. I dont think we did find an answer in that thread but it might give you some tips on how too.

I havent listened to gravity of HIPT in so long that I honestly cant even remember the parts your talking about. I know by tonight though I will have got my cds out and tried to listen for it. haha.

Yeah, that's ok. :) I *do* still feel like a noob here though. (Did I even post this thread in the right spot?)

Trust me, your not much of a n00b. There have been much more annoying people who have posted here. ; )

There seems to be a lot of overlapping voices in olp songs.

Sell My Soul - I can't everything off me, Surrounded by homewreckers and kamikaze

I'm not sure on that.. but I definitely hear the "I can't" & "Surrounded by" parts

Wipe That Smile Off Your Face - Someone tell me something, someone, someone tell me something, someone tell me something, something, something

Pretty much sure on that one

In Repair (I've been working on this for a long time) - Just a little further, keep heaven, heaven and all the pain (the path can surmise?).. (then I can't make out the last part)

Those are the main three.. if anyone's got any others.. I can give them my best shot

Just a forewarning.. this is with full sound and just the headphones blasting (like someone else did in the other thread)... I'm just giving my best shot to answer the question

Wasn't the talking part in In Repair supposed to be the Pope? in another language?
Thats what I seem to recall.

However, it definately sounds like english to me and my attempt to translate it had some of the same words as ^^

wow, thanks!

I tried listening to it in winamp and playing with the equalizer (as suggested in the other thread) but got no where.

It's almost as if the equalizer is just there for show.... nothing seems to change.

In my mind, the part in In Repair, is:

Just walking away, to give you help. Help in all the way you can, to mind <cant make out the rest in here> to real life.
I don't do sigs.

what the fuck is Raine saying at the end up Supersattelite?

I remember reading on the CC way back in 2000 that Stealing Babies goes "it must be my ego, it must be my lack, a fate that you might not come back" because as I recall it's not written in the booklet.

oh and Wipe that Smile.... Raine is saying "waaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh oh waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh waaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh"

If I remember correctly, at the end of Supersatellite, he's saying

"Oh the soul inside the world, far better than inside of the mind, fuck you, I am you, you hear me, stop crying, STOP CRYING"

I really don't remember where I read that at all, but it's definitely what it sounds like to me regardless of where I found it lol
Every line I've crossed has come undone, everything I know is somehow wrong.

lol, that's completely different than what I thought some parts of it said.

At the very end, I thought he was saying "sat-tellite, sat-tellite"

But now that I've read along with yours while listening to the song... it makes SO much more sense now. :)
