But really, olp has done pop music since 'Life', and all the music he has written outside the band has been pop songs that other singers do... so its not like you can expect him to come out with a metal album or something. Its going to be songs that are too pop-y to do with OLP.

Raine in studded leather giving the metal horns--I would buy that.

I would assume their greatest hits album will be a lot shorter than all of us hope it would be....

1. Starseed
2. Supermans Dead
3. Naveed
4. Clumsy
5. One Man Army
6. Life
7. In Repair
8. Is Anybody Home
9. Innocent
10. Not Enough
11. Where Are You
12. 4am
13. Somewhere Out There
14. BONUS (Unreleased)
15. BONUS (Unreleased)

I'll grant them 2 bonus tracks, just cuz it would be shitty to only get one.

And ummm......fuck sony.

I'm sort of curious what kind of music Raine will make in his solo effort... I can't see him doing an acousticy record (like most solo efforts) and i can't see him doing an artsy/avant-garde record either, or a dance/electronica record. i don't think it will be necessarily critically acclaimed, but i'm interested in what he would come up with...

I see Raine doing something similar to David Usher's If God Had Curves. I'm also thinking that it'll be something kind of poltically charged since the band has gone on record saying that they had to tone down some of his lyrics. Just wondering, do any of you guys think that Raine solo album marks the end of OLP. What if they go into permanent hiatus like Moist.

It should be the end of OLP but it won't be. Raine's solo career will be short lived and he'll go back to the band and they'll keep making music no one really cares about.

Because there are still a few loyal OLP fans left on the board.

I don't have a clue who the fuck you are but your opinion means little to me. The fact is they haven't made a good album in 5 years, and the stuff they have put out is uninspired and generic. Apart from the recent Canadian tour they have had a record of putting on horribly predictable and unoriginal shows and for the most part they're a band who is no longer relevent even for the dimwitted radio-single-loving audience they've been seeking out.

I am not a bandwagon jumper, and if you knew me you would take back that comment. If you ask anyone here and if you look through all of my posts on here and the CC over the last 8 or 9 years you'll see that I have been critical of the band since Life was picked as a single on SM.

Also, is it any coincidence that the CM's popularity has correlated with the quality of music the band has produced? But of course, you've been around for all of one month so you wouldn't know anything about that. Come back when you're ready to comment about things you know even an ounce about.

Jim. Simmer down.
You don't need to jump down the guys throat because he's new. And just because he doesn't have a mammoth post count doesn't mean he isn't entitled to an opinion.

But I do agree with you. It's not one album that doesn't measure up. Its like 3 albums.

I am not new. I have read this board for many years. This is a new name, I read this board all the time. I just dont have time to lookm through every single thread and comment on anything so I can be "cool" and have over 10,000 post which proves I sit on my computer all day and critisize music, although I dont like it, I can never write anything half as good as it. I use to be IMONEMANARMY but i lost my password and have a different service so i cannot get it back. Basically...if you can do better, prove it, if not, well figure it out.

I don't recall ever claiming I was a musical genius. I also didn't realize that 3 or 4 posts a day for more than 4 years constitued sitting at the computer all day criticizing music. Man, there is so little I know about myself. Please go ahead and tell me what else I don't know. I'm beyond intrigued.

The fact is anyone can discern the difference between good and bad music. I didn't realize that we weren't allowed to be critical about things we aren't professionals in. I've never made a successful pop album before, so I guess I should bow down to Britney and Christina eh? Can I make a better album than OLP? Probably not, but I have no interest in doing so anyways. I've purchased their albums and been to countless shows and because of that I have the right to an opinion on what I've seen and heard. It is much the same as going to see a movie and afterwards telling your friends about it.

Your logic is pathetic at best. I and everyone else here has every right to say what they want about whoever we want and if you really don't like hearing such things said about a band you see no flaws in, may I suggest maybe you should go to the CC?

If you're allowed to be critical why can't he be supporitive?

he's welcome to be supportive. I don't ever criticize anyone if they're supportive of the band. What I am talking about is his post above where he attacked me for being critical of the band.

Dude, saying "he started it" doesn't help. :P

You can justify being critical of the band without getting into personal attacks. Thats just not being very nice.
