My Wish for the Vancouver Shows....

Post by MattCTUSA »

Since OLP are playing 2 nights in Vancouver, My wish would be for them to play every possible song that they know how to play over the course of the 2 nights!! Don't repeat one song!!! Bust out all of the old and new songs that they could remember how to play, including covers and just go nuts!! How awesome would this be?!? It'd make a nice bootleg that is for sure!

I've heard of other bands doing this, and I just think it would make these 2 shows special, since, if I remember correctly, this is the only 2 night stand in any of the cities!

Very excited for the first 3 shows this week! Hope everyone travels safely...and Matt is in the air now on his way here, flight is on time!

Stoked for Live OLP!

okay, first of all, they have announced a second show in Quebec City, so Vancouver isn't the only 2-night venue.

Secondly, great wish!! Good luck ;)

Hehe, that would be great and ummmm... I have a list of every song they've played on the Healthy in Paranoid Times tour, lemme find it...

Starseed
Naveed

Superman's Dead
Carnival
4am
Clumsy
Car Crash

Potato Girl
Is Anybody Home
Waited
Thief

In Repair

Somewhere Out There
Innocent

Angels/Losing/Sleep
Will the Future Blame Us
Picture
Where Are You
Wipe That Smile Off Your Face
Love and Trust
Boy
Apology
The World on a String
Walking in Circles
Al Genina

They also soundchecked Denied and who knows what else.

I am sure they would be a little rusty on some of them. Specifically Carnival which they only performed twice this tour, Thief which they performed once, and maybe Potato Girl. And hopefully they've been rehearsing some other old ones that haven't been played this tour yet. Spiritual Machines and Naveed are being overlooked a little bit. Oh and Gravity, haha.

It certainly would be nice to see them swap out a good portion of the setlist so we can hear different songs.

they were soundchecking brand new songs the other night in Buffalo and it sounded great, so I'm hoping we get something new this tour.

And Joel said he'd love to play more SM... that would make me very happy!

Yay for safe arrivals.

I am in Victoria, mainly killing time until everyone arrives tomorrow.

Plus trying to work out how to fit all the million things I need to do in Vancouver into the limited time I have there.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

I would die happy if they played 4 AM. I'd been even happier if they would play Waited as well. (Duncan may laugh, but its one of their best songs.)

Why would Duncan laugh?
I would love to actually see Raine sing 4 AM. Don't get me wrong, I love that the whole crowd sings, I just never saw him sing it before and would love it.

At the sound check concert I screamed out "Waited" and Duncan chuckled and shook his head. *Shrugs* Maybe it came as unexpected or something.

Just a random lurker here, but I've been watching the setlists and...am I the only one that's noticed that every song from HIPT has been played except for Don't Stop? I dunno, really I just thought it seemed like a random song to not play live
Every line I've crossed has come undone, everything I know is somehow wrong.

especially since they named the album/tour after a line in the song

I've never seen Don't Stop live, and I scanned the setlists from 2005 and never saw it.

I've seen them do Al Genina live a few times now.

While I'll have to agree that Don't Stop isn't the best song on the album or anything, I just always thought it might be nicer to hear live. Really, although some of the more long term fans may not agree, I think it really would've made a good single. I've had a few people get into OLP (and not just HIPT and/or Gravity) through that one song. I personally think it's a song that would really be hard to not pay attention to on the radio, even for people that don't know much (or anything at all) about the band...haha, I suppose I'm getting sort of off topic here....Point is, although it's not the best song, I don't think that's any reason to not play it live, I really think a lot of people would like it more then
