Tonight was amazing, except for some problems with one of Matt's guitars which made him less chatty at the end.

The setlist was (and Sonya can probably correct some ordering for me from hers):

House of Smoke and Mirrors
Generation X-Wing
Indestructible
Symbollistic White Walls
In a World Called Catastrophe
Fated
Hopeless
In Love With a Bad Idea (just because someone requested it - no preparation or anything)
Load Me up
Strange Days
The Fine Art of Falling Apart
Apparitions
If Hollywood Runs Out of Indians
In It For the Money
Sort of a Protest Song
Alert Status Red
So Long Mrs Smith
Avalanche
Empty Road
Buffalo Seven
Born To Kill :GASP:
It's Been a While Since I was Your Man

The crowd were so much more active than yesterday. Yesterday was more mellow and I saw lots of couples on the floor with their arms around each other. Today there was shouting out and cheering all over the place.

And I got to see Sonya again which was fun :D even if Mr Security told us some stories we'd rather not know!
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Kaegan needs to post a review of last night's show.

It was fabulous as always. What more can I say? Kaegan got very excited when Matt mentioned Coquitlam, and Matt played an excellent song about PoCo girls that someone has to have recorded or else I'll cry.

KAEGAN! REVIEW! PLEASE!

Or I'm not giving your signed reserved sign.

I bumped into Matt on the street yesterday. I'm not stalking him though. Honest.

Since Soozy is threatening me, I guess I had better post a review!

I found out I was going at the very last minute. I was in the car for about 5 minutes, and by chance they mentioned about 20 tickets for the show had been released. Knowing that Soozy was in desperate need of having someone to go with on the final night, I decided to grab a ticket. They were only available from Ticketmaster outlets, so that was a bit of a pain to wrangle. Fortunately, it all worked out.

We got there, and Soozy went in early using her super duper VIP backstage pass and reserved us a couple seats front and center. Am I ever glad we sat there. It was absolutely amazing, even without being that big of a Matt Good fan, to see him that close up. The intimate setting and the beautiful venue made this experience as enjoyable as seeing Our Lady Peace up close and personal at the breakfast. I can't decide which I liked better, though.

The opening act was great, she reminded me of a mix between Dido and someone else... I forget who now. I had it all worked out before. I believe Matt opened with Avalanche, but I was so awestruck that I don't remember too well. I just remember I sat there for the first couple songs with my jaw on the ground, and feeling like perhaps a tear would come to my eye. I didn't cry, as I'm a robot, but I definitely had that teary feeling as a result of how amazing it was. I settled in for the show, and the mood was quickly lightened up by Matt's surprising sense of humor. The highlight of the evening was when he asked the audience, "Is anyone from PoCo (Port Coquitlam)?" which is my hometown. I responded, saying that I was from PoCo and I'm not kidding. He then proceeded to sing a song making fun of girls in PoCo. If you don't live here, you won't get it, but it was still pretty funny. He's from Coquitlam, and there is a bit of a rivalry between the two cities. I don't quite get it myself, but meh, I haven't lived here all my life.

The DJ from the FOX at the beginning said Matt was going to keep playing and playing that night, and oh boy did he ever! His set was long, yet ever so enjoyable! I hope Soozy can maybe remember the setlist... I know I won't be able to. I wish I had been able to snatch one, but oh well.

Matt and the opening girl did a cover of "Hurt". That was absolutely excellent. One of my favorite songs of the evening, although Indestructible was pretty freakin' awesome too.

Getting home was interesting. Soozy went off to the back right after the show, and I as expected had to find my way home. I was waiting on Hasting St., where I ran into a couple of hookers, waiting for my bus. For some reason my bus didn't stop, something to do with it being an express bus I think. So I had to wander down Commercial Ave., by myself, at midnight for about 15 blocks. Some homeless guy offered me drugs... that was interesting. I got to the skytrain, took the train as close to my house as I could get, and took a cab from there. That was interesting.

All in all it was an excellent evening, and I'm glad I went. I found out later that he tells different stories every night, which made me wish I had gone every night! But that would have been pretty damn expensive.

By the way Soozy... the second rubber chicken died. *runs*

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

no that's just vancouver. I've never been and I even know of Hasting lol
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.
