R.I.P. Deshaun "Proof" Holton

Post by Neil »

I know a great deal of you CM'ers aren't into rap music, at all. But this is definitely a loss for the industry.

R.I.P. Proof......now all the thugs are cryin' and the gangsters are all pourin liquor for the Detroit native. (haha)

Right!? I was thinkin the same thing when I first heard.

Reports are coming out, now, that Proof took the first shot in whatever altercation happened. It's still sad though....at least for the people that knew him and were close to him.

we're surprised someone got shot on 8Mile road? From what I've heard, that's one of the least surprising things about any of this.

Not so much surprise as it was ironic. I mean the guy was in the movie 8 Mile!

it was so sad, they were playing old interviews with him all morning on 95.5 (detroit radio station).

a girl called in said she was driving along side eminem on the highway or something, i forgot what she said, but he was crying pretty badly and this was before she heard that proof got shot.

on the news though, they're saying he shot at the army guy first and then someone shot him so i'm not really sure what happened.

I can't feel bad for someone that pistol-whipped then shot a man in the face, even if he too was killed. It's karma. You go out and do something like that, it's coming right on back to you.

And I drove by the club where Proof got shot (it's rather close to my house) and John Norris was doing a piece for MTV. I was tempted to get out of my car and ask him how old he was. There's no reason he should be dressing like I do. The man is 50.

Yep, good Old Detroit. I live two miles from 8 Mile. Thankfully, I'm in a good part of town, but the city itself is a mess. It is in horrible financial shape. Really all of Michigan is. The auto industry is dying and home foreclosures are out of control.

I think things are going to get worse (economy, violence, etc.) before they get better.

All in all, it's not a great time to live in my neck of the woods.

Its sad when somebody suffers an untimely death, no matter what.......does anybody know why Proof acted out first? No.

I would act out first under certain circumstances. You all would too.

Proof got in an argument over a game of pool and shot an unarmed army officer in the face. No game of pool is worth my life.

Ping pong on the other hand....
