Why the frig is OLP/Pedestrian, who are very anti-war, playing a military academy?!?!?!?
I am so confused. And I really wonder if the guys even know.

So yeah. Not only does that show seem to be happening, but Pedestrian (or just Joel ) is opening!!!! This is close enough to Melissa's birthday to be her gift. Nam, you're coming.

Oh, and I should add that some moron from the school posted this on the CC a few weeks ago:

The Junior Ring Ceremony at Norwich University is one of the finest traditions out military academy has. Every year, these Juniors recieve their rings, signifying their rising into senior ranks and preparing to enter the world as citizen soldiers and officers in the United States Armed Forces.
I think it's sad that this band is the best Norwich could get. You guys suck. You are not worthy of playing in front of these noble individuals who will one day defend our great nation. I hope they're not wasting too much money on your lame act.

I pasted it to Soozy and on the hub, so I figured I should post it in here, too.

I'm pretty sure I'm not going to that because it's a military academy. That just kind of scares me.

Yeah, a room full of drunken testosterone filled hard man wannabes doesn't sound like a conducive atmosphere for a nice show. Add in the whole anti war/military academy thing and it doens't look good.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.
And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

i mean they re-opened the hot seat packages and sent out an email to fanclub members advertising it...so they obviously havent got the message that we are pissed about it...all they do is tell you exactly what you get now with the purchase of a hot seat...and one thing you dont get - YOUR MONEY'S WORTH...now i got 2 sets of 4 seats in kitchener for the price of like 2 hot seats....and i gotta get rid of one set of 4...ugh
hey where are your kitchener seats? the ones you're trying to get rid of?
you have to, you just have to trust me
whoever i was then i can't ever be again
the faith you've found i've never felt
the terror held in wedding bells
the comfort in "there's no one else"
the truth be told, i'm never going to know
Well, some good news for the B-lo show, I called the Edge while I was out there this weekend and the DJ said that they don't have the official announcement but "there's a pretty good chance" of it and they're expecting to announce the show "really soon" - so like, hopefully in the next week or so, so that they can start selling tickets, I mean if it's the middle of April they're going to need to start selling them YESTERDAY.

If it's the Flickinger Center, they can kiss my ass.

I saw U2 at the HSBC arena, but I haven't seen anything else in Buffalo, so I've never been to the type of venue that OLP would be likely to play there.
<I><B>"I know this sounds corny, and I might be a little bit drunk, but honest to god, thank you everybody"</B></I>
The Flickinger Center was terrible because there was the stage, and in front of it was just a mass of people. And the stage was a little rounded if I remember right, so we were all ringed around it, and there were no seats and OLP took two hours to come out after their last opener, so we just stood around for two hours waiting and waiting and waiting, after we'd had to stand through 30 Seconds To Mars (before they became semi-okay - they SUCKED so badly we were cheering when they were done because they were getting off the stage). So it was awesome to see the guys, but it was a shitty venue and a shitty show. The band played really great, it was a great show for them, but overall, it just sucked.
And I won't go if that's where they're playing again. I didn't mind standing at Northern Lights because they didn't take two hours to come onto the stage. But I will not go to another concert at the Flickinger Center.

why on earth would it have taken two hours for them to come out? Surely that's an isolated incident that wouldn't make me not want to go to the venue again?

Heehee. Let's hope Buffalo happens! I'm still scared about Vermont.
