One more quick note to Sarah...

I work in radio marketing and I know that it is very hard to find event sponsors for everything these days. (Thank Dubya for the shitty economy in the states for that one.) So I'm sure that the OLP camp would have gotten a sponsor if they could. I know they have in the past--Cutty Sark was one of their tour sponsors. (Talk about sponsorships working--that was years ago and I remember them sponsoring that tour like it was yesterday).

Things are crazy in the music business these days. They are getting their butts kicked with lawsuits. And they are losing $$ big time on album sales in general. It's not an easy time. I'm sure the last thing Sony/BMG and OLP wanted to do was piss off fans.

The strange thing here is you aren't paying for what you get. Apparently some of the tickets in the first 10 rows or so are being sold for $49.50, others are being sold in the $170 package. When the presales started, none of this information was available. But there were few to none of the $49.50 tickets in the first 10 rows available during the fanclub presale and no information available to the fans to help them decide if they should get the $170 package, the $49.50 fanclub tickets, or wait until the main sale. Fans who initially went for the $170 package aren't getting what they paid for. There will be people who pay $49.50 tomorrow and get just as good seats. And had this information been available at the time presales started, I'm sure there would have been some people waiting for the main sale instead of paying $170.

Perhaps this sort of thing is meant to compete with scalpers, so that even when the regularly priced tickets have sold out, one can buy $170 tickets from Ticketmaster instead of some individual on eBay. But that's no better. At least the other way, the fans did have a chance to buy any of the tickets the first time around at regular price before scalpers got them.

My sister's friends got seats in the first couple rows of London in the public sale ($49) and will likely be sitting near Lindsay.

That would really tick me off to pay more than 3x the person sitting next to me! I can't wait to talk to the people in my row at the Kitchener show and find out how they all got their tickets. Fun times.

Let me clarify. I paid for a GUARANTEE of 1st-8th rows. And since I have not had many chances to see OLP in 2nd row, I have no problem paying a premium for the guarantee. :)

With the $49 tickets it should still tell you the row number and section number before you actually pay, as long as it searches and finds one on the first 8 rows you could have been paying $49 for a guarantee of 1st-8th rows too. :P

I did not want to wait until the regular sale. With my luck, it would be sold out.

In other news, I just bought my "I Love OLP" shirt to wear to the show I'm going to. :)

Front row Sonya!!! Are you Duncan's side or Steve's?

I have to say that I'm still angry with olp.net. The reason there are no fanclub seats better than row J in Vancouver has to be because they've been set aside for the Hot Ticket stuff.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

This is really unfair, this is what paying for this membership gave us ? I really can't believe it. Actually, we're all paying more to get what? Nothing.

GIVING stuff to the one that paid for the 170$ tickets only is some kind of a joke, let's remember that all of us paid for this membership to get priviledges and so far it's the opposite effect, we're all sitting way further away from our favorite band at the concert, isN't that a very "strange" result?. :uh:

Nam sure does like that naked duncan.

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever
