How about this ...
Buy your cheap $50 tickets or whatever the average ticket is going to cost.
Sit in the cheap seats for the opening acts.

Then when OLP hits the stage everyone get up front and stand in front of the rich people in the first row. Starting linking arms if security comes. You'd have to think Raine and them would do something when they see dozen of fans being dragged away in a non-violent protest.

Hah. Cept if they know about the ticket prices (which I'm pretty sure they do... it's been a full day, everyone's pissed and spammed the entire OLP-related internet about their anger... yet we still haven't gotten any kind of explanation or "oh god, guys, we're sorry, we didn't know"), they'll let us be dragged away.

Also, at the .net meeting, I'm pretty sure I remember talking about tickets. I vaguely remember something coming up about reserved seats for .net members to have access to. Not "people with a lot of money" to have access to.

We definitely talked about getting into soundcheck, too.

where's the fairness??

Nikki's talking about the .net meetings and stressing what the FANS would Love. I agree with her 100 percent, I wish I didn't have the money to fork out for expensive tickets, I wish I wasn't fortunate because I feel all your pain guys  But then again it's all politics on the promoter's and record labels behalf.

It's the promoter that's ripping, us the fans, off. My guess is that OLP has just learned about this recently and I bet they are trying really hard to solve this problem before a definate conclusion is posted to us.

I hope so. They sure are taking their time addressing it, though. With the internet being around, there's no excuse to take a full day or more.

Yea North American cars are rubbish compared to the Astons of England.
I'm sure you'd get use driving on the other side of the road after an hour or so ... if you make it that far. :P

I've just spotted this :O

I'll have you know I drove from Seattle to Vancouver and back without any problems at all!

My only problem was in the hour long queue for the US border where my right leg wasn't used to being the one on the pedal all the time so it got kinda tired.

I spoke with a few friends who are in various fan clubs and what I posted yesterdya is the norm.

Fan clubs pre-sales does not gurantee Great Seats. the pre-sale only means you have the opportunity of purchasing tickets before the general public does.

With the HOTSEAT tickets. They are diong that for INXS also. A few of my friends also told me that they have to pay upwards of a few hundred dollars to get in the first two rows( this is fan club members) about $200 for rows 3-15 and a little less for other tickets. ( wiht the clubs they were in)

What you experienced with the pre-sale is normal for most fan club pre-sales..

You have the choice of buying what is offered to you or not.. You made the decision..

I do not know anyone who was in a fan club get GREAT SEATS ( first 2 rows)in a pre-sale.. Closest I ever got was 7th row..

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

But the thing is on the page on .net advertising the site's features it said priority ticketing before the general public. Yesterday, you did not need to be an ourladypeace.net member or have a passcode from there to buy hotseats. You only needed to be a member to buy the regularly priced tickets. It's perfectly fine if a fanclub presale doesn't have all of the best seats, but what it looks like happened here is the fanclub got their allotment of tickets, and instead of offering all of them to the fanclub members who paid for it before the general public, they pulled out all of the best tickets from the fanclub allotment and made them available for anyone at all who was willing to pay a lot.

Life isn't always fare now is it? It is just I think you are blaming the wrong people. I doubt Stace, OLP, or .net had anything to do with this.. That is why I said this is the norm for most fanclub things..

It is about choice though.. I have given up tickets cause I either thought it was a ridiculous price to pay or I didn't like the seat..

I also said you should be thankful you are going. You could of been shutout or gotten roof seats. Being 10-15 rows back isn't as bad as you think.. It could always be worse.. Yeah paying 170 is steep, but if you really want to sit up front you would do it.. I paid $170 for u2 seats 2x last year. Yeah it was steep but nobody force me to get the ticket. I wanted to sit that close so I paid the price.( and all you got for that was the show).

In my experience with concerts I have gotten better seats day of show, or releases for show. I hardly buy tickets in advance anymore.. Even with this tour I am playing everything by ear. My friend is suppose to get us Ottawa tickets. She has one of those friend of a friend thing so I will not know where those are for a few weeks yet.. I am not too worried about where I sit. As long as not in roof i do not care. I have seen OLP enough times in the front that a few shows aren't going to kill me.

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

OLP isn't U2. They don't have the ticket demand or longevity of U2. Thus these situations are not comparable.

No one is forcing anyone to buy tickets...but OLP has had enough bad publicity over the last while (re: rookits) that I don't think they're going to do very well with tickets this expensive, whether or not they are at fault.

Just for shits and giggles, let's break this down and make it easy for you to see all the points and stop ignoring the ones you don't like.

You're right, life isn't a bus fare.

It's also not fair.

But that's a really really really shitty excuse for screwing over your fans. How about I shoot a puppy in the head? It will make his owner sad. Too bad. Life isn't a bus fare, after all.

It is just I think you are blaming the wrong people. I doubt Stace, OLP, or .net had anything to do with this.. That is why I said this is the norm for most fanclub things..

Actually, .net is run exclusively by OLP and their own team of webmonkeys, including Stace. As a part of .net, the fanclub was formed and designed. Access allowed to different tickets depending on your membership is a fanclub issue. It's a .net issue. It's an OLP issue.

It is about choice though.. I have given up tickets cause I either thought it was a ridiculous price to pay or I didn't like the seat..

Good for you.

Fanclub members would be fine to give up their tickets.

Just give them their fanclub fee back, which has thus far given then absolutely nothing worthwhile.

Except that because of the prices and shitty arrangements, people aren't going. Whole trips were cancelled because of this.

And as has been said a number of times, OLP are NOT U2. When you can sell out massive shows like U2, fine. Whatever. When you're playing a show that's only in half an arena, charging $170 for good seats is rediculous. OLP are one of those bands that are loved in part for treating their fans extremely well. Not this time.

I won't even respond to your last comment because you won't like what I have to say.

Okay.

And era is a period of time. An error is a mistake. Normally I would have left that, but you made a spelling error while telling me not to get on your case about spelling errors. Take 2 seconds to READ what you type.

YOU are missing the point, Gail.

OLP is NOT a massively huge band like U2, and should not be charging these outrageous prices for good tickets.

They should NOT be charging fans for what has amounted to absolutely dick all.

This is not the "norm" for a small moderately successful Canadian band, Gail.

So please, get over your obsession and realize that your favourite little band can and did screw up. This is the first time they've shafted their small fanbase like this, so excuse us all for being pissed off about being screwed by the band we've been supporting for years.

P.P.S. Remember the PPU? Where fans got tonnes of good stuff for their membership fee? The one that made it worthwhile to pay for a membership?

Yeah, that was fun.
