Angry with OLP.net? LET'S DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!

Post by Lando »

After reading Josh's post in the news section about what people have received for their paid memberships to ourladypeace.net, I can see how many people are outraged. Especially those who actually did pay for a membership.

I say that everyone who's upset with how rediculous this fan club is should do something about it. Members and non-members.

Maybe everyone can all email or contact them about it all at once. Or create some sort of online petition to send to them.

If a lot of people express themselves we might be able to do SOMETHING about it. Even if it's small... it's better than nothing.

If anyone's going to a concert, stick around and talk to the band about it.

That works too, but I mean to get the ball rolling, a big group's voice works better than a few people's voices at a time. Especially since you can't always get to meet the band.

Oh yeah, definitely. Talking to the band personally is just something extra to do on an individual basis.

I'm definitely for this. I've stayed quiet (we all have) long enough. This has reached a whole new level of crap (still too mad to come up with a better word).

It just seems like something a huge ass band would do. If this was U2 no one would give a crap, because U2 has the fanbase and the power to do so. But I'm not even sure all of OLP's tour dates will sell out. Hell it wouldn't surprise me if people started going to see NWL not OLP. But whatever.
Paying for a membership to nothing is insanely not cool. And charging an extra $150 per ticket for a tshirt and the first row is crazy. OLP has never seemed like a band that has been about the money. Whatever happened to general admission?

Well, we all know record companies are the greater evil and I doubt this is all the band's doing... but still, they should be aware of what's going on and should be against these types of things.

The two things I mentioned we should do are just suggestions, if anyone has any better ideas, or a good way to go about this, please speak up.

OLP.net is run by the band, not Sony.

They are in the college rock band genre, don't they know college students can't even afford parking most days?!

I feel hungover... the excitement of the tour announcement yesterday followed by a big letdown today with the rip-off tickets, the computer glitches, the ebay tix already.

Right, but that doesn't mean that Sony doesn't have some sort of say in their ticket distribution or ticket packages.

I hope I am too, but that doesn't excuse the fact that the fanclub sucks and the fact that the fans, especially the fanclub members are seriously getting ripped off. OLP should be aware of this if they run that site right?

An apology or more appropriately an explanation is warranted in my opinion.

Action by us, the fans, is needed either way.

Let's actually make one of those online petitions. They're useful for big stuff, but Ibet if we all signed it, it'd work for something small scale like this.

That's exactly what I want. An explanation and an apology. And perhaps something to make this up to everyone who got screwed.
