top ten physics ta pickup lines

Post by christa lynn »

Me and my female physics friends came up with these. We thought they were funny (you may disagree). These are lines that a hypothetical female physics student could use to pick up her TA (not that I condone such a thing :P ). Since this references physics (and math) stuff I've made comments in [] where it might not be obvious, but I've been around this so long I probably don't have a really good grasp on what is obvious. Ask for clarification if necessary.

1) Hi, I'm female.

2) Is my op-amp burning, or are you just smokin' hot?
[ an op-amp is an integrated curcuit that is easy-ish to fry ]

3) Want to measure some bed spring constants?

4) I bet your natural log is massive.
[ ln(ta) = massive ]

5) Want to show me your solid state?

6) I bet I could stimulate your emissions.

7) LDD you ;load you into variable D
LDY me ;load me into variable Y
EMUL ;extended multiply
[ this is writen in assembly language for the HC12 motorola (I think) microprocessor ]

8) Want to form an orthogonal basis?
[ orthogonal = at right angles ]

9) Would you like to take my inner product sometime?
[ an inner product is some math thing you can do to functions or vectors, the point is that it sounds vaguely dirty ]

10) Is that a dirac delta function in your pants or are you just happy to see me?
[ a dirac delta function is infinity when the argument is 0 (in the function f(x), x is the arguement), 0 everywhere else, and integrates to 1 ]
