there is no way that wipe should be the next single.
Sony has really fucken up this album
Why would WAY be released first, or at all
ALS is not a radio friendly song, or video freiendly song (after finally seeing it)
And now WIPE -I love OLP but this is why they are not touring much. After Gravity was released with SOT and Innocent, they toured like crazy(where they went around Europe and Americas).
Sony released the worse songs for radio- and the band is getting very little radio play and not much touring
If Sony thinks an anti Bush song will be played on US radio, they are mistaken. OLP is not Green Day
WTSOYF is definitely has a more radio-friendly sound than WAY or A/L/S. Because of this, I think it will do well. Also, unlike with American Idiot, WTSOYF doesn't directly bash Bush. In fact, the vast majority of the listeners probably won't even know that it's about Bush. In fact, Sony will probably get OLP to water down the content of the Music video to appease everyone.
But like I said, WTSOYF definitely has a "catchy tune", which is all average radio listeners care about (why else would Innocent be so popular while A/L/S gets virtually no air time?).
The ONLY way I would want to see it as a single is if they make a politically charged video. Something smart, though. Not another "war is bad and people die" video.
I still maintain that it'll be a highly successful single. It has a certain quality to it that would just get people to vibe with it. I would say that either WTFBU or WTSOYF are the best two candidates for singles, I would personally go with Wipe.
