Westpoint - local band

Post by Kathy »

I just wanted to let you know about a band called Westpoint from the Toronto area. They've been playing shows in Ontario and Quebec. A couple of my friends saw them play recently and said they were good, so I went last night to hear them at Lee's Palace in Toronto. I didn't have high expectations because I've recently seen some sub-par local bands, but these guys really impressed me with their live show. I even bought their CD afterwards which I wasn't expecting to do.

So, now I can't get their songs out of my head! A few are available on Myspace so check them out if you're interested: http://www.myspace.com/westpoint

Hey, heheh. My friend and I were on our way to see Westpoint last night. Ended up going downtown to Joe (the club) instead... How were they? and how's their new singer?

I've only recently heard of Westpoint, so I really don't know much about them. How long have you known about them?

I liked the show on Sat night and I liked their singer (I'm pretty picky when it comes to male lead vocalists). They did one cover (Jimmy Eat World) and the other songs were all their own. All in all I was impressed and I would now consider myself a fan :)

ooh, what Jimmy Eat World cover?
I've known about Westpoint since like... grade 10... uhh.. 4 years ago. It's funny cause their guitarist messaged me on Kazaa and starting talking crap to him before I d/led Searching for Autumn (that song is soooo good). Check out Glory Fades if you like Westpoint, www.gloryfadesrock.com. They are a little moe emo though.

The cover was "Bleed American", and they said it may be the last time they do the song live. I know there's a link on their myspace to check out a video of them doing that song, although I haven't actually checked it out.
