Yeah, that way you can bitch about whoever wins with a clear conscience, right? The whole "at least I didn't vote for him" coupled with the ever popular "my one vote against him wouldn't have mattered anyways", eh?

Edit: that was more of a universal "you", not necessarily directed specifically at you.

God damn, I don't know who to vote for...

Do I vote NDP and hope that the Liberals can hold on to my riding? Peter Milliken's Liberals have held office here since 1988. If the Liberals don't hold on, it will be Conservative, obviously. Or, do I vote strategically for the Liberals to help keep out the Conservatives?

The Liberals have always won by a wide margin in this area, often with nearly twice as many votes as the Conservatives. But are things different enough this time to turn the tables?

i really want to vote this time, but i don't know if i'll get the time. i've got classes and a lab all day until 5, and i don't know how long the polling stations are open until.

Robbo; they don't count advanced polls until the actual election, once the polls are closed.

In my opinion, knowing you are NOT a Conservative by any means, vote strategically for the candidate that has a higher likelihood of winning. If you say the Liberals triumph in your area, vote for them(that is, if you wish to block the tories). If it was a Liberal stronghold, theres a higher chance it will go to the Tories than to the NDP. Also, call up the offices of the candidates in your area. They've been polling all along, get their results.

I'm definitely going with NDP if i get a chance to vote.

All i have to prove that i live here is an internet/cable bill with my name and address on it. hopefully it's enough to register.

I was checking the advance ridings in my area, and it seems the liberals and conservatives are close. Im more NDP, but i need to vote liberal to keep Harper out.

Anyone notice he says "God Bless Canada" at the end of his speeches??
To me thats definitly frightening. I,ve been doing some research on this guy, and some of the things he says scare me.

Like this one: Canada appears content to become a second-tier socialistic country, boasting ever more loudly about its economy and social services to mask its second-rate status.

If this election wasnt so close, id be voting NDP, but I understand that voting NDP is indirectly voting conservative.

So if your like me, just vote LIBERAL!!

If you can't get an ID with your address on it, you can get another voter from the same riding to vouch for you:

Well in one sense it is, but George Bush also says that at the end of every speech. Harper is the first Canadian candidate to do so.

Religion doenst belong in politics or elections. It seems as if religion has only been a motivator for war when placed in the public, just look at history.

If I was religious, I'd probably say God bless in a speech too. It's what he believes, so I don't mind that.

Having said that, Harper would/will be Bush's lapdog.

Also, I saw a poll on TV. In Ontario, the Liberals and Conservatives are neck and neck. Nationally, the Conservatives are considerably ahead.

Granted, this was just a poll (don't know the scale or anything), and usually doesn't mean much for the actual results.

But it's still damn scary.

I love how I can be proud to be Canadian for so many political reasons.

And Harper seems to want to take all of those reasons away.

Americans joke about Canada being America's little brother (or, in Tucker my-bow-tie-is-too-tight Carlson's case, America's "retarded cousin"), but if Harper is elected that's exactly what we will become. Harper will do everything in his power to conform to the US.

Definitly, which is why people should vote liberal.

Im NDP, but that isnt important in this election. Stopping the conservatives are. Politically, NDP and Conservatives are polar opposite. The only thing that can be done is voting liberal.

I really dont want to see us involved in Iraq. At first I though this stuff about Harper being pro-american was all just Liberal strategy, but I did research, and some of the stuff this guy says is unbelievable. Him and George Bush are the same person.

Damn scary is right. So many people are voting for the wrong reasons (i.e. to punish the Liberals), but there are so many key reasons that Harper would be wrong for this country. The poll results are frustrating to me. What's also frustrating are some of the political message boards I was looking at... it's come down to name-calling among users, and some really awful regional generalizations/stereotypes. Urgh!!

Ya I know, the West is really giving Harper alot of power, he has every seat in Alberta. So if your in the west, vote liberal.

All im hoping for is a conservative minority. If they are weak, they will be restrained by the other parties. A majority would give them tons of power.

Harper said to americans at a speech that, "you wont recongnize canada when im done with it". If theres a majority that will come ttrue.
