Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.

I bought 28 new CDs this year, and 2 more on the way. That's the most CDs I bought from one particular year, I think. Shitty it was not. It never is. You just have to look for it.

Almost every cd I bought this year and looked forward to listening to was mediocre. The albums I listenend to the most were from previous years. With a few exceptions.

And just because you bought a lot of albums doesn't mean they were good albums.

It does in my case. I know people who have listed 100 albums, too, (and did the same last year) but I haven't nearly checked out that many.

Nah, I would have to say SLGTM is #1.

"All Your Summer Songs" is a very fragile record. They blend motown and twee pop together perfectly, and have it recorded on such a delicate medium, that if it sounded clearer, it would be ruined, and if it was fuzzier, it wouldn't be worthwhile. On top of that, they have 12 (now 14) songs that appear to be old motown style songs, but once you look a little deeper, you find the influences of My Bloody Valentine, Magnetic Fields, and Johnathan Richman/Modern Lovers in the music. It's really quite genius.

Now don't get me wrong, Belle and Sebastian are great, and it was a nice collection, but this is essentially a B-side collection. And the common wisdom is, there's a reason these songs are B-sides and not the single.

But that's just my opinion.
