The only other real advantage to the old XBox over PS was it's Live format. But I don't even use my console online. :D Plus, I imagine the PS3 will improve on it's online performance.

A hard drive allows for faster load times becuase much of the game is installed onto the hard drive. Plus you can throw on music to listen to if you don't like a games soundtrack. Also, it allows for extra content to be released for particular games. For example, you could download new Halo 2 maps through Live. Of course, these maps would be far to big to fit on a memory card.

This doing nothing activity will now continue for months and months to come for those who managed to get an Xbox. Except now they'll have flashing pictures in front of them and a controller in their hand.

I've been hearing good things about the PS3. It's supposed to have the best videocard in existence and have the entire system or something set to run it only.

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

But xbox live is a paid subscription isn't it? The Japanese Nintendo 64 basically had those capabilities as well with the 64DD.

blah blah.....Gaystation 3 is gonna have great graphics, I don't care. I guess I'm really not all that big on the graphics, really. I mean, I'm sure its gonna look kick ass, and the specs prove that its gonna be stronger than "360", but it really doesn't sway me. Their exclusive lineup of games is getting weaker, and not stronger. Thats enough for me. haha!
And by exclusive lineup...I'm talkin the good ones. I know I'll get shot for this, but the Resident Evil game sucks. Like J. Edgar "sucks".....

I need me a 360.....I think I'd just about eat a pile of turd if I could track one down right about now.

You'll really see the PS3 pull ahead when the developers take advantage of Blu-ray's 25 to a possible 100 gb of space per disc.

Really, it relies on the developers. The PS3 as a system is surely going to do it's job. And I fully expect the smart developers to take advantage of the amount of freedom they have with the space on the blu-ray discs.

The Xbox 360 comes with a Xbox Live Silver. Silver is offered to everyone, Gold requires a subscription. Silver allows you to download extra content, talk to people over live and post high scores. What it does not do is let you play online. Secondly, the 64DD was far more limited than an Xbox with Xbox live.

Ahh yes. Regardless, those issues will be sorted out. In the mean time I'm wondering why Sony is not changing the design of their new controller. Every game puplication under the sun has poked fun at it.

Because it doesn't matter if people poke fun at it? It could turn out to be a comfortable controller.

It very well could be, but it does not appear that any buttons were added so why change the design? I can understand slight changes, but a complete revamp?

Well, a redesign might be worth it if the controller is more comfortable. Won't know until it's in our hot little hands, though.

What people don't see is that this is the EXACT same controller as PS1 and 2, only instead of squared off edges, it's a perfectly round boomerang type of shape.

Okay, two threads (well, three really) discussing XBox360. I'm going to lock this one and the conversation can continue in the older one.
