yeah! cartoon rules apply to real life! woooo!

for example, according to cartoon rules, you can not fall off a cliff until you realize you are about to fall.

also, you cannot be blown up, until you realize the fuse is lit, and it's too late.
then you explode.
but only your hair is really harmed, and your okay by the time your next diabolical plan to kill the road runner come s to mind.
