states that:

1. Skanking

The bizarre, wild dance done to the music known as Ska. Not to be confused with a, "skank" skanking resembles running in place while flailing your arms. While popular at Ska shows, it is more acceptable at other mixed venues to simply join the mosh. Unskilled skankers are sometimes mistaken for seizure victims.
Ex: Good Skanker: Most Reel Big Fish fans. Identifiable by their large sunflower sunglasses and festive attire.
Bad Skanker: "That Guy." The one at every show that looks like he has a bad itch.

if ur talking about the girl who was in the aisles dancng...and was wearing like red and black....that was the same girl who kept talking during thief and bugging blair and I....

Hm, I know who you're talking about, she was pretty wierd too. But this guy was smack dab in the middle to the theatre. A couple rows infront of many of the hubbers actually. Had a white t-shirt and black hair... or could be my imaginatin.

omg, that was the guy that was in front of me, melissa, nikki and nam. he kept grinding on the girls beside him. then, he would stand on his seat and jump off.

I, too, thought the show rocked but first a negative.

I don't know if it was a Rogers thing or a Massey Hall thing, but the manner of ticket distribution was terrible. Getting an email ticket just to stand in line for hours in the cold to get a wrist band to get a ticket then then have to wait another hour or two for the doors to open was ridiculous. Not very good PR in my opinion. I also feel bad for anyone who wanted to go and didn't show up b/c the upper level had a lot of empty seats on the sides.

The upside while standing in line was that the security was very nice...passing out hot chocolate and such....and they had Rogers representatives passing out goodies...I snagged an OLP shirt! Another positive was that we met a lot of cool people in line.

ok, enough bitching...the show itself rocked. For me, it wasn't the best OLP show I've been to, but it was by far the best sounding OLP show I've ever had the pleaure of attending. I don't know if it was the venue or the band kicking it up a notch, but they sounded excellent. The crowd seemed really into it too.

They played for right around two hours and the setlist was great. First time for me hearing Car Crash live and I wasn't disappointed. It was good to hear Thief too, but maybe it was just me...it sounded like Raine forgot some of the lyrics...just chalk it up to the song not being played much live.

I was a tad concerned for Raine's safety as he scaled the balcony, but he was well supported by all the fans over there.

All in all A very solid show and I was very glad I made the four hour trip. It was unfortunate I didn't meet and other CM's personally, but i know we represented.

ps - does anyone else find it a little odd that they would be putting out another DVD so soon? Many bands never put out one let alone 2 in such a short span. Not complaining, just saying...

I thought this place was supposed to be a small intimate venue like the Drake?
From the pic Massey Hall looks fairly large in size. Not stadium sized but average size for a concert hall.

It has a maximum capacity of 3500, but we were no where near 3500, I would guess 2000 and change if that as their was tons of empty seats.

Two cheap views from the cheap seats! Cell phone cams aren't the best, but in the second pic i think you can see Raine climbing down from the balcony.

ya I was there. Was at the front of the line (about 15 people in front of all the cm'ers) only to get jipped out of decent tickets and ended up 10 rows back. It was a good show but I felt like I was at a Britney Spears show some of the time because practically everything was choreographed in terms of the lighting acting in synch with the music/guitar solos, and just the structure of the show in general. With that, I can't complain about 22 songs, especially with the additions of Waited, Thief and Car Crash. I also can't really complain about the crowd as much of it seemed pretty into it, although as pointed out earlier the one lady yelling during Raine's intro to thief was a bit unnecessary. All in all it was pretty good, but not the best OLP concert I've been to.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

Joel is a-class. he's freaking awesome. both signed this ridiculously large Make Poverty History board i have. it was very cool. i went with my gf and friend who are both marginal olp fans, during Waited, sabrina (my gf) turns to me and says "this is freaking amazing." i've gone to a lot of concerts with her, and she's gone to a lot on her own...she says this was the best. it was a small venue and the sound was freaking amazing. i think my personal highlight of the show was starseed.

just want to thank nikki once again for yelling out for me!
*one last hug for it*

OMG boy, you made my whole trip! You were so adorably excited they need to bottle you up and sell you!

YaY you got yer signage and Joel's bracelet!

I'll post the pics of you and Steve and you and Joel I took prolly tomorrow.

*cheers

I also got jipped. I was second in line but somehow I ended up in row J. The guy behind me however, ended up in row A, because he was by himself and they were trying to fill the single seats in the first 10 rows. I was so pissed about that. I felt completely jipped. I am never going to go wait in line for an OLP concert again.

It all depended on which box office attendee u went to...they split the tix right in have...so on lady had the rows a - k and the other had l thru whatever.....

and to answer other questions...

Nikki recorded it...so whenever she gets back she can tell u when it will be available...

and we actually chatted with the people who were holding onto raine when he went up on the balcony...they were really nice...

well either way, the way the tickets were distributed was ridiculous. like the e-mail said, those who show up early were supposed to receive the best tickets.

ya....the ticketing was handled horribly....i couldnt believe i ended up in the balcony, and there were empty seats everywhere....but we were dead centre and the seats were still very good

as for the show....probably the second best one i've seen (out of 14) and the only reason mod club being better was cause i was front row
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

well, show-wise, i think everyone has pretty much taken the words right out of my mouth over the past few pages. completely amazing. my hopes were as high as they could possibly go and i wasn't let down at all. gah i feel bad for you guys who waited there for sooo long and got like, row J and i got B...goddamn them ticket people. and raine was saying during wipe, "there are 33 wars, can you name more than 2?"...i'm not exactly sure whether that's what the mumbling on the cd actually is. it might be. and for thief, raine forgot lyrics. teehee. "but the nametag muh buh mm mm ooo wanted..." ...HE DIDN'T FORGET SOT THOUGH!

hmm let's see. i met/saw/hung out with russell, dom, sooz, nikki, melissa, nam, teedus (WHO DIDN'T BRING A SIGN!!!)+teedus' friend, miro, kruno, sab, assy (by the way, that was HIM who got to sing with raine :GASP:)+jamie, claire, blair, reza+gf, hold on i'm thinking.....lori...SO MANY PEOPLE......um...nikki's mom ("I GOT PICKED UP BY A GUY!")....rich+shelley, and a lot of people whose faces i remember but whose names/cm names i can't make the connection with, or whose faces i somewhat recognized but never really asked if they were who i thought they were. tasha, i didn't see you, but i wanted to wish you happy birthday! and that's all i can remember at the moment. there were tons of people there. quite tall. i was the awkward short one in the blue jacket vest, if you saw me and was wondering who i was. heh, when i got there i went up and down the line and couldn't recognise ANYBODY...i was thinking, "not good not good not good"...then i heard a "hey it's jen!" and turned and suddenly i saw tons of familiar faces! it was so cool. as well as a big relief. and after getting tickets, we (well, the group that didn't go to the baton rouge) went eatin's in the eaton centre and i got some nice pictures, which i'll try to post someday. then we froze our butts off waiting in the back for olp to come out, which they didn't. then we went to the show, etc etc, then we went to fran's restaurant across the street. then i went home. russell kept poking me/pulling my hair. reza was boob-grabbed. they made me do part of the ok go dance and i felt stupid. sooz gave me european smarties and cool stuff *hug*. and i hugged someone goodbye at fran's and i don't think i ever found out what your name was, oops. but you had dark hair and weren't overly tall. and sab's orange cowboy hat is incredibly useful when you are lost. and nam drank a lot of crap, hahahaha. and i was disappointed because nobody at massey in the front rows was singing, they all suck. and the guys behind me kept yelling for naveed and also for the score of the leafs game. all in all i had an absolutely kickass time, thank you all, it was awesome meeting you :D absolute best first concert a girl could hope for.
