Two engineering students were walking across campus when one said,
>> "Where did you get such a great bike?" The second engineer replied, "Well,
>> I was walking along yesterday minding my own business when a beautiful
>> woman rode up on this bike. She threw the bike to the ground, took off all
>> her clothes and said, "Take what you want." "The second engineer nodded
>> approvingly, "Good choice. The clothes probably wouldn't have fit."

The Church made a sacred day of Sunday … largely because it was the weekly festival of the sun; for it was a definite Christian policy to take over the pagan festivals endeared to the people by tradition, and to give them a Christian significance.

“It takes 90 years to grow a box of Kleenex.” Behind these words lay a stark landscape of dead trees, and below them was the link to the campaign site, Kleercut.net.
-ancient forests are important in the fight against climate change by converting excess CO2 into oxygen
-they provide a home for wildlife such as caribou, wolves, eagles, and bears
-in North America, less than 19 percent of the pulp used by Kimberly-Clark (the producer of Kleenex and the most infamous for its use of “virgin fibre”) for disposable tissue products is derived from recycled sources
-ancient forests are being cut down around the world, including Canada—Hinton Forest in Alberta was clear-cut to support Kimberly-Clark’s harmful practices
-“Kleenex Facial Tissue is made from 100 percent virgin fibre and contains no recycled fibre. Virgin fibre is used in our tissue because it provides the superior softness customers expect from a premium facial tissue product.” –Kimberly-Clark Kleenex.com website
-Kleercut.org has performed experiments in Toronto in which passers-by were able to try virgin fibre tissues and recycled tissues to compare “softness”…and no one could tell the difference
Ancient forests are being wiped out to create tissue products that are used once, and then thrown away. Stopping this practice will only benefit ourselves, and the rewards will far outweigh a supposedly softer tissue or two!
What to do: At http://kleercut.net/en/downloads, a variety of campaign materials are provided for anybody wishing to become an activist against this issue. These materials include posters, flyers, stickers, as well as a downloadable 16-page .pdf of the Greenpeace Shopper’s Guide to Ancient Forest Friendly Products.
Documentation: Attached is an example of one of the cards I have submitted to local supermarkets.

"if the nuremberg trials were applied to us foreign policy, every us president since 1945 would have been hanged." noam chomsky.
...and this is me hanging on / i'd burn our initials in the sun if it would shine / anxiety chokes me like razor wire / if hate's in your heart man, you'll take what you're given / wake up / i'm not the only one / it's never goodbye / go ahead and play dead / if everyone's a casualty, then take your time, there ain't no trouble / these wounds they will not heal / ambition can be a tricky thing / what the hell do i know about rape anyway? / this is not what i hoped for / ain't it so weird how it makes you a weapon / who will be there to tell me how stupid i am? / those living for death will die by their own hand / and it's me that I am spying on / pick up the pieces and live with the stars / hurry up and wait / things have never been so swell / they're always the ones who slowly drift / be great / ...and this is my world.
