It's not just A/L/S Gail. From what I've heard, he hasn't played on a LOT of stuff this year. He didn't play at the G8 thing, he played backup then. If you look at the videos form the Our Lady Peace Breakfast that are at www.cfox.com, he didn't play lead. He also didn't play at the show later that night. Also I've heard from at least 5 different fans at five different shows that he didn't play lead there either. So we're not just basing this on one occurance. And also, stop bringing up Mike, it has nothing to do with him. If Mike hadn't been playing any lead guitar on a tour, we'd be pointing it out too.

Rob, I thought you did bring up Mike on the hub in relation to this thread.
Something about knowing Mike was a good guitarist, and Healthy in Paranoid Times being Steve's first chance to show us what he can do in the songwriting department, and then learning that it possibly wasn't even him.
I think Gail's point is that we don't know if Mike, Steve, Arnold, Bob, Jamie, Joel, Arnold, Jeremy, or Christ Apecrett came up with the OLP guitar parts that we love. They're there, and they rock, and they rock live. Steve's not playing them now, but I believe Joel has said that him touring with the band is just a temp thing. Once they depart, I think we'll be seeing Steve gasming out more of the sweet lead parts like Angels/Losing/Sleep and Boy.

but why is it that we have to wait untill after the stunt guy leaves to see the lead guitar play something other then rythm chords?

i have a solution to this, they should just get Jag Tanna to produce and guest play on all of OLP's albums. Seriously, he's way cooler then Bob, he's one of Canada's best players. His brother Chris can remind Jer that it's ok to be a awesome player. And they could do it cheaper in his toronto studio then in Maui. Hell they could even get Brian to come in a do some awesome meledoies with Raine.

I have been to about 9 shows now on this tour. I have been in front of Steve for about half that. He does still pay lead, plus the keys..
I honestly don't care because this has definitely been one of their best tours. They have never sounded better or rocked out like they are now..
As for Joel. he is not different then Mike E, or Jamie before him. Adds more texture to their onstage performance.
I said it seems it it besed on this one performance cause nobody ever said anything till this performance...
