You're not crazy Nikki... I thought the same exact thing when I saw the video. That sound he makes just doesn't match the way his mouth is moving.

I didn't read through any of these to respond so forgive m eif this seem soff topic. Iliked this performance. I did however miss the keyboard like sound Steve makes on the guitar before the end where Raine sings War was in your head. Hard to describe but that has always been my favorite part live. :love:

You know, that one part is kinda strangely out of sync looking, but otherwise the video and audio seem totally fine. I mean you can even sorta see Raine moving his throat on certain little vibrato-y bits. Unless he is the world's greatest lip sync-er, I don't think the audio was recorded at a different time.

One thing that may have happened though - he might've just screwed up that one note during the video recording and then they did an overdub of just that part. But otherwise it seems totally normal to me.

i think it's totally possible that it is because it is streaming video, and the audio may be marginally out of sync....thats my opinion...but i didnt notice anything when i watched it

Nikki, if you had not of brought this up I was going to. I think the sound may have been studio mixed and then reapplied or something. Some parts sound way too perfect, and don't seem to match up visually. They may have sang the song in the studio as you see it, but I think it was mixed later to even out the levels. The backup audio lays in there waaaayy too well. I still enjoyed the performance immensely, I just question its authenticity...but not in a confrontational manner than anyone should yell at me for! :mrgreen:

Jacqui, I agree completely. The backing vocals were another thing that seemed way too perfect to me... Duncan and Steve are good, but not THAT good. :lol:

Oh yeah, and I don't think asking Steve about the whole "are they phasing you out of the band" thing would be very nice. :no:

But you could at least ask why he's been playing backup.

And when he says it's because he's also playing the keys, ask why he's also only playing backup on songs where there are no keys.

It would be VERY awkward to just move Steve to a stunt musician roll and start crediting Joel as the guitarist, though. I mean, how would you explain that? "Sorry Steve, you're not good enough. How 'bout you just stand in the back and play with this xylophone? Mkay?" I don't mean any harm to Steve, but if they're going to replace him, they'd probably be better off just outright firing him. Less turmoil down the way.

Poor Steve.

haha, I love how we don't even know any of this. It's quite possible that none of this speculation is even remotely near the truth. :lol:
