 Oh Josh, you and your hoarding.

Driven wrote:What an awful choice. God awful. I realize that most OLP fans like this song, but it will fail miserably as a single. It's just not single material.

OLP had a chance to get a quite a bit of radio time in the U.S. if they released Will The Future Blame Us as their 2nd single. That is single material. That will get played. Angels Losing Sleep will not.

It's ridiculous what they've done with their 2 choices of singles. I'll give a pass to Where Are You, as that song still did a good job keeping OLP afloat on American airwaves, but I can not understand why they would release Angels Losing Sleep.

Will the Future Blame Us and Love and Trust should have been 2 & 3.

Not that this even needs a response cos Josh's "Weakest Link" post basically said it all ... but regardless...

First off, the newsletter said it's the next CANADIAN single. Nothing about the US (though, I don't see why it wouldn't be released here, too... unless we aren't getting any new singles ever). Secondly, stop acting like the US market is all that matters.

And lastly, it is most definitely single material. Not only do OLP fans love it and think it'd make a great single, but non-OLP fans love it, too. Trust me, I've spoken to them. :P

If it doesn't do well, it won't have anything to do with the song itself, but with poor marketing.

:GASP:
yay!!!

Angels/Losing/Sleep!!!!!

and I've read a post on a negative notion towards this single as to how it's not up to par as the future will blame us will be. Of course the future will blame us is an excellent single also, it's just not the right time to release it. Most likely it will be the follow up single to A/L/S. So no need to worry, it will eventually become a single in the future. It's not the end of the world.

Angels/Losing/Sleep in my opinion is the best choice they could've made. I'm so happy mainly because this is the strongest song on the album plus it's a song that will make OLP relatively more popular. It's a very catchy song and the general public love catchy songs. So this could finally be a break through for OLP to make new fans and to get more radio airplay, especially on the mainstream.

'cause slashes are the new "2" "r" and "u" in the music biz.

Josh has unshared stuff that he's not sharing in his shared stuff or in any shared unshared shared sharing folder.

In other words, Josh likes Cher.

Good choice.

This track should do real well in Canada. OLP singles have a good track record in Canada and this is the first "rock-radio" track they've probably put out since the Happiness..... era I'd say. (Maybe besides Mafia, but that won't get the backing like this single likely will).

Should be interesting to see what happens in the States though. WAY wasn't the greatest choice, so I'm not sure how it'll do there.

At least it's a good track though.

That said, It would be a huge mistake not to release Will The Future Blame Us as single number 3 and not have huge promotion backing it. That song has radio hit written ALL over it.

WAY did surprisingly well considering that most OLP fans just hated the song when they first heard it. I'm sure ALS will do even better. :D

Am I the only one who doesn't think "Will the Future Blame Us?" is that great? It's *too* radio-friendly for me.
And if I don't make it known that
I've loved you all along
Just like sunny days that
We ignore because
We're all dumb and jaded
And I hope to God I figure out
What's wrong
