Sex with a scorecard

That was the title of an article we read in english the other day. I'll summarize it quickly. Bascially it was about a group of about 33 highschool boys, who called themselves the "spur posse" a name taken after their favourite basketball team. The sole purpose of this "posse" was to score the most points. You got a point when you achieved orgasm with a different girl. These were also the "popular" kids in highschool. A grade 9 girl really liked one of these guys so she had sex with him, then the boy brought his friends over and said she had to have sex with all of them too. She didn't want too, but she thought that this was what you had to do to become popular in highschool. Another time a girls clothes were taken in a public park during sexual activities and the boy refused to give them back until she had sex with all his friends. Her clothes were only given back to her because she screamed, she believes that her screaming prevented a gang rape. The top scorer had 66 points, the second only had 63. Now charges were pressed against this group, after one of the members had sex with a 10 year old girl. Sadly, all charges were dropped against them, except for the guy that had sex with the 10 year old. It gets even worse I'm afraid. The fathers actually defended these boys, saying that it is completley natural for boys to brag about scoring and that they did when they were that age. They said that when their boys came home with a new girl they said "cool" and told their friends about what their sons were up too. The mothers called all the girls sluts, and said they were only having sex to deal with security issues. They didn't think that their sons had any problems. Of course one of the boys did comment that the moms were only freaking out because of "that freudian thing, you know penis envy."

I'm sorry that's all smushed together but it has been a long day. If anyone wants to like paragraph that, go right ahead. I already had to write a response to this in english, but I'm curious to see what kind of responses you will all have towards this. I forget what the town was, I think it started with an L. It's somewhere in America. I'll try to get back to you on that. I think it was originally published in Time as well, so please comment away.

that's disgusting. it's like the mentality that victims of rape and abuse deserve what they get and the afflictors aren't at fault.

That's definitely F$*#&D up ... sadly, I could see like this happening in more places, just not made as public or taken to such an extreme ... this is the reason why sometimes I hate the classification that comes with being a guy, that this is your sole purpose in high school, when it is for only less than half or at most (and probably in our school by what I see) half of the guys ... and also, I would guess it would've taken place in Texas, since the Spurs are from San Antonio... that's still something that keeps me up at night about to puke at what goes on unpunished in today's society

Heh. Reminds me of what I heard happened at our high school when we were freshmen. The senior guys had a contest to see who could sleep with the most freshmen girls. :uh:

Thankfully I was a huge nerd so nobody bothered me. :*)**

So disgusting.

And Yeah, Nikki, i still know of Grade 12s who have contests to nail the most younger girls.
I had a boyfriend in the lower grades :mrgreen:

When I was in grade 9 the OAC (grade 13) football players had a pool going on who could sleep with the most freshmen girls. Dude... we were like, 14 years old. And they were almost 20.

Apparently grade 12 guys trying to get grade 8 girls is something that happens at my school at times too, but I'd never heard this until I was doing research for a play I was in on sexual exploitation.

It's actually insane what goes on...

Well, not necessarily insane, because at one time in Society a 12 year old wife was perfectly acceptable, especially one married to a man in his 30's.

Its just gross.
