Those annoying stickers on the CD case cover

I bought the Dual-Disc early this morning right when HMV opened, and I took it home and opened it up, and underneath the wrapping, on the plastic cover there were a couple stickers on it, mainly that told you about the Dual-disc. So i tried to take the stickers off, but they left all this gluey crap all over the cover and now it looks awful. Did this happen to anyone else?

no but it seems like it was impossible for me to open the case of the dualdisc,, unless I broke it. I decided to get the dualdisc because it was only $1 more than the normal CD at Best Buy.

yeah there were like 2 layers of plastic on the dual disk
it took me forever to figure out that the little pull tab was under the first layer of plastic

i did NOT have fun doing that

im still incredibly pissed that i screwed up my HIPT cover, which could be the best OLP cd ever. and its not like i can replace it with a different cover cuz its the dual disc kind thats not like normal cd covers.

Take all the booklets out, so it's just the plastic, and run it under water while gently rubbing. The white glue stuff will come off quite easily.

cleaning advice for cd cases!

whenever i have to peel ugly stickers off of something and glue is left behind, i repeatedly unstick and restick the sticker to take off as much sticky stuff as i can. sometimes it'll come off in one sitting.

Well I took off all the papery stuff but now theres a kind of smudgy kind of residue on the case thats kind of sticky so i guess its the glue, i tried wiping it with a damp cloth but nothings getting rid of it. Any other suggestions?

No no, that stuff smells bad... use lighter fluid.

And, no, that's not just a crack to get you to make your cds flammable. Lighter fluid works wonders on glue residue. Use it on anything with a sticker you buy and can't get the sticker off of. Just don't use it on anything with any kind of decal painted on or something, it'll take that off, too.
