No, no. Thunder Bay is West Ontario. North Ontario is like Sudbury, and around there, North Bay, those places.

A song about the genocide (that's the mass brutal murdering of a race of people) in Darfur, and you're arguing about what part of Ontario he's talking about?

Besides, it wouldn't be good to be in that "North Ontario"... He's using that as a referance point for the ignorant masses who have no idea what's going on. This particular individual wakes up in Darfur to experience the horror first hand, and the compassion that still exists in those who live it every day ("welcome to my home", etc...). It's a plea to show compassion for those who are suffering. The man who wakes up in Al Genina doesn't know if he'll ever get home, but he's asking everyone to leave a light on for him (something you do when someone you care about is out late/away and you're expecting them home). I believe that this man won't be able to leave, to go back to his old way of life, until the killing is stopped and these people can live in peace. Only then can he come home. But he has hope that these people can be save, that he will come home, because he asks that you leave a light on for him. That, or, in a similar scenario, it's the people of Al Genina, who have been run out of their homes (the people of Darfur have been displaced, leaving their homes to avoid the genocide), asking someone to leave a light on because they have hope that they will survive and be able to return home in peace and happiness once again.

Every now and then I fall out into open air just to feel the wind, rain and everything.
And though the hum and sway gets me down
, I'll find the way to peace and openness.

Al Genina = a village in the Darfur region of Sudan, where the genocide is taking place. Plus, Raine went to Darfur with War Child.

Dude, lighten up. It's just some friendly joking around, much like 99% of the posts on this board.

Thats a very good song interpretation! It is rpobably exactly what raine meant when he wrote it.

AL genina is an excellent song, its so much Meaning packed into 2:15.

ok. cuz i was gonna say... geez. there's like zillions more posts of spam and joking...

anywho. I've been terribly critical of OLP for a while now. Hearing how at least two of these songs are 'some of the best OLP has recorded' has given me a bit of hope, but i'm not putting too much stock into it until I hear them for myself. (some of) The lyrics at least seem leagues ahead of Gravity, so that's good.

Will The Future Blame Us and Angels Losing Sleep read pretty good to me. I don't like Where Are You? at all though, it seems like a bunch of different songs thrown together.. it doesn't make any sense (and not the good kind of not making sense)
