OLP at Canada games tonight

Post by Lando »

Hey everyone, I'm going to this tonight, so I can't tape it, every place in Canada that has even a basic cable subscription will get APTN and can tape it.

If security is really crappy I'm going to bootleg the show too, since it's not supposed to be too long, only a 50 min set approx.

They might not air all of OLP also, so if they don't that's why I'm considering taping this.

So, all you Canadians better tape this on TV. The first hour and a half won't have anything to do with OLP, it's a bunch of ceremonial stuff and some crap people like Canadian Idol, Teresa Sokyrka or whatever, and some jazz band stuff, hell I don't remember, 'cause I don't care.

Also, if anyone has a way to tape it that's better quality than VHS, do that, because I know some of you can import directly to your computer!

This thing is being aired Nationally after all, also check out Global, they might show some of it since they supposedly picked up some of the Games footage too.

Later dudes.

Nope, either they're only airing the shit stuff, or they're only going to air a little bit of OLP.

The games start here at 3:30, the local Lions Band play a pre-show from 2:30-3:30 (oh yeah, 3:30 my time is 5:30 eastern, or your time Lori) So they'll have crap until 7:00 your time, 5:00 here, then OLP starts for what I was told is a 50 minute set. I don't see them cutting OLP off or anything though, especially if it's not televised, they are the last part of the event, so it's not like they have to fit anything in after them.

I'd tape until around 8:30 est, just because if they do play a longer set (and I doubtfully think it will be aired) none of it will be cut off.

My guess is yes.

They're probably only going to air the ceremonial stuff then.

According to this article, however, the OLP performance (which could just be the first song) will be included in the broadcast. One of the main reason's APTN picked up the rights was because they were hoping to gain some viewership and OLP was one of the main reasons.

Yea.. this sucks.. apparently they'll be showing Solstice 2003 (Aboriginal Entertainment) at 7:00. That's according to the guide on my TV anyways. If it was CBC, it'd be a given that they'd show OLP but as for APTN. I'm not so sure..
