what i don't understsand is what the big dea is.. You can't wait a few weeks for the songs not heard all ready.. I can wait.. Hell I had a copy of Gravity for 2 weeks before I played it. I was just happy to hear BOY live cause everyone was talking about it..

I probably won't get the cd till a day or two after it is released anyway..

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

Its SO tempting.I had the opportunity several times,to get a leaked version, so I decided just to get a few songs. Wanna save some of the surprise. I wanted to hold off so badly but it was right there and I couldnt resist!

Apology is amazing though,in fact, the entire album is sensational. Their best yet!

i am absolutely dying to hear the new stuff.....i dont know why ppl are holding out on it....i had gravity at least 2 months before it came out and i still bought at least 3 copies of it....i am a collector of olp stuff....i have a copy of every album still sealed that i will never open.....i wish whoever has the new album would just share it already cause it is not going to effect whether or not i (or anyone else on here) buy it, as i am going to buy at least 2 copies of the dual disc and 2 copies of the regular cd....i guess what i'm trying to say is that there is no harm in listening to it early, cause we are all gonna buy it anyway
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

it's not about the whole "supporting the band and buying the cd" thing, it's just that we want to surprise ourselves when we've actually got the cd in our hands and we're putting it in the player for the first time. and we can admire the artwork too.

I agree! I willdefinitily buy the new album, regardless. I have heard about 3/4 of it so far, but I am saving Love and Trust, Boy, and World on a string. Other then those, the album is very good. Its such a unique sound/

nope not at all. It was too tempting for me though, Im saving 3 or 4 songs just to keep that special moment as special of a moment as possible. IM looking forward to seeing the art, and seeing the making of the LP on the dualdisc. Ive only listened to the songs about once, so I can wait for the CD>it was tempting.

And then there are people who don't want to be disappointed by yet another subpar album by OLP on August 30, so they download ahead of time to be on the safe side. I commend those who have the confidence that it won't. But I don't want to waste $10-15 if it's their second album that blows. Why, I could send the money to a third world country instead and make Raine proud that way!

I found the "leak," but I'm sad to announce that a lot of it is just a lot of the live versions, and Al Genina is the infamous fake. So oh well. It looks like I'll have to get disappointed at the same time with the rest of ya. :clumsy:

I wouldnt speak so soon! This is a very impressive album. None of OLP's albums are "sub-par" especially this one.

Or, as Gail suggested, you could've just gone to see them at one of their 4 southern California shows this month, decided if you like the new tunes there, and if not, hey, you still get to hear some old stuff. :P

Either that or just download the tons of live stuff thats been recorded, and clips that have been released. Its not hard to decide whether the album is good or not nowadays ever since this internet thing was invented

I like having the choice of listening to the songs early if they are available. I'm with Neon on this one. I'm not gonna force anyone to listen to them...its totally a personal choice.

QUESTION FOR MODS: Can we talk about the songs in a thread (like this one or another one) with a spoiler warning attached so people who want to can read and talk about them?

I didn't tell people to go to the shows. LOL.. I wish I could go back. That place is so tiny.. I haven't heard the ones put up here.. I would love to hear the whole version of Don't Stop though..

I am just happy that we are finally getting new material from OLP.. It has been a really long time. From the stuff I heard it is worth the wait. I had to laugh though cause both Raine and Steve said to me you will love this cd.. I always laugh when they say stuff like that to me.. Like you need my approval or something.. I did say to Raine that he did Bono Proud. I do see the U2 influence on Boy, Future and Angels. I also mentioned to Steve it was great to finally see him shine on his own stuff. From what I heard I am really loving this new cd.. Esp live..

I feel love, I feel a power. It comes to me in the darkest hour. And I want to feel it again

i just think that whoever has it should share the wealth....thats what this community is about...the music....the band made the music to be heard by all who want to hear it....and i guess some ppl are trying to play god and control who can hear it and when

what's the difference when you experience the enjoyment of listening to the whole record....is it different to listen to the whole record today, or two weeks from now...not at all....

if you dont want to hear it now, then all it takes is self control to wait till aug 30, but for those who know it will be the same today as it is 2 weeks from now, there is no reason why we shouldnt be able to take a listen

Actually it's because the band doesn't want it leaked. We're respecting that and trying to help keep it under the radar.
