Danko Jones!

Post by bovine »

Danko Jones is opening for OLP! That's awesome! I got "We Sweat Blood" a few months back largely because it was on sale for just $4.99. Anyway, I've been listening to it quite a bit and I really like it a lot. I just checked their website last night after hearing that they were opening for OLP and I learned that they have 2 CDs prior to WSB...I'll have to pick those up.

So, does anyone else know this band? Like them? Do you think they are well paired with OLP?

This will probably be more appropriate in the general music forum, so that's where I'm moving it. I saw these guys at Edgefest and they really didn't do anything for me. They get a small amount of airplay here in the Knoxville area, but I'm just not into them.

What style music do they play? Basic rock? (assuming such a thing exists anymore)

Don't see him more than once. He says the same stuff every time and the songs aren't that great either :(
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

i saw danko jones at snowjam 4 or so years ago...

i thought they were alright, nothing special. some of their songs are catchy.
not very good performers though. kinda dull.

I asked on the hub and nobody answered... are these the guys from Edgefest with the lead singer who screamed crap between songs and sounded like a pro wrestler doing it?

If so... BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. OLP needs to get Greenwheel to open for them again. And I'm gonna do everything in my power to make that happen. 8-)

Yeah Danko SUCKED!

He thought he was all hot and that the all the ladies wanted him, but I made sure I yelled a lot of stuff about him being Delicious and such. Also, Jer was watching from the side of the stage and he also laughed about my comments. :D
