How do you figure? The Olympics is about sending the best in the sport to compete. As long as they don't get paid for the Olympics (which they don't) then what is the problem? Every other country does it.

Amen.

Personally, I don't really see the point of Tennis as an Olympic sport. The same exact people play eachother as in the tours and they do it year round so their match-up in the Olympics is not all that eventful.

The idea of golf came up to replace baseball and the same would be true there.

not quite as true... Golf has multiple tous on every continent (except for Africa but for all I know there is an African tour) And for the most part a lot of these guys only play eachother at major championships, namely the British Open which is the only true international championship. Golf also has a lot of depth now in at least two dozen countries. Personally I'd rather see golf in the olympics than Tennis or baseball, but that's just cause I'm a huge golf fanatic.
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

the US wasnt in the last olympics for baseball
they didnt make it out of the North American qualifying region... Canada and Cuba won out

as for tennis at the olympics, its a different game, rules wise its obviously the same but with international tennis (ie. fed cup for womens or davis cup for mens and the olympic games) team coaches are allowed to coach the players during the game.. basically give em advice/change of strategies, etc.. it makes for a different game and when one puts on their countries colours, it changes something in them and they tend to play out of thier minds heh. apparently theres some sorta incentive other than money for them heh
go fuck yourself.

yea but i think the baseball world cup will be a lot more fun to watch at least to baseball fans.

i think the olympics have become more of a hassle then anything else. I mean the citizens in the countries dont even want them to occur there. So they really should re-evaluate the whole thing.

Sorry buddy, but the US has won the gold medal in Softball since it has been an Olympic event in 1996. 3 in a row, my friend. Australia never won the gold.

As for the World Championship, I can't find anything for women's so I guess I'll just have to believe you. I did find this however: http://www.2005worldsoftball.com/ but that is a Junior Men's league. Is that what you are referring to?

I read a little snippet in yesterdays apper about the WC's and us winning. Only reason I know. It was for womens.

I wish I'd learned more in karate than just: punch, kick, block.

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever
