It's not oragami. Just cut it out, and fold it like it says (either a "mountain fold" or a "valley" fold, nothing complicated), then tape or glue the tabs where it says to.

Lori, if you did it right, it works best with one eye closed, or with two eyes open from a distance.

If so, put it about two feet in front of you, at eye level. Close one eye and look into the dragon's eyes. Walk/move right and left. It's the best way to get the illusion going.

Once you get it once, it's much easier to see again.

ahhh, i didn't have it at eye level. i was looking down at it. maybe that's why it didn't work.

Probably. It won't work if you can see any of the white paper from the back of the dragon (because when you can see the real shape of the paper, the illusion is lost).

It even has a diagram! "Mountain fold" means that you fold the paper up, like a mountain /\ ... "valley fold" means that you fold the paper down, like a valley \/ .
