Explosions in London?

Apparently these blasts have been linked to those in Madrid and 9/11 with Mustafa Setmarian Nasar the suspect.

They're saying it's most likely that the bombers themselves are British born. People with no previous links to this kind of thing. There was a name for them "clean something" I think. I feel so sorry for Muslim people here as this is going to further any anti-Muslim feelings and prejudices. Apparently the Muslim Council of Great Britain has ha 30,000 hate emails since the attacks.

it is pretty bad as there was an attempted arson attack on a mosque in leeds which certainly is not the way to handle things. however, i talk to many muslims. some totally condemn the attacks, but some seem to be in denial and accuse the americans, british or israelis of being behind the london attacks and 9/11 in order to start wars in the middle east. i know our governments are bad but this idea seems kind of ridiculous.

also, has anyone heard of a bomb being de-fused on a bus in birmingham yesterday? i don't see how these attacks are going to stop unless muslims and people around the world unite in order to fight terrorism.

They evacuated the whole of Birmingham city centre last night - 20,000 or 30,000 people because they'd received some kind of intelligence that an attack was being planned. They did controlled explostions on 2 suspect packages - one on a bus - but both turned out to be harmless.

so um...i guess i'm just being paranoid because i'm paranoid about everything but...

i just heard on 680 news that it's not a matter about IF canada will be attacked, just a matter of WHEN. canada is pretty high on their list apparently. which is damn scary to begin with, to think that people in your own country are going to die because of something like this, but you know...

my city does look like a very, very likely target. and i use the subway a whole shitload, and so do so many other people i know, and even people i don't know, it doesn't matter. i don't want people to die. but it's going to happen, right? am i being paranoid? yeah i am. fuck. why the hell is this hitting me so hard all of a sudden? it's like i've been living in a floaty dreamworld bubble and terrorism is just a faraway tragedy that happens to other people, not you. i'm giving them what they want, am i? i'm paranoid. aghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhHHHHH

Well, even if you do worry about it, it's not going to prevent or make it happen. So all you can really do is keep your fingers crossed. I realize that's not exactly a cheerer-upper, but my point is to just keep doing as you would anyway. And, I dunno, don't get on trains with evil people.

Someone mentioned at some point right after Live 8 (I think it was on the news) how it was good that no terrorist attacks happened at the Philly one. I didn't even think about how likely a target that could've been with the million people there and media and such until it was mentioned on tv.

Had it been a few years ago, I probably would have immediately thought about the possibility and would've been afraid to go.

I guess my point is, when some time passes, you're paranoia/fear'll most likely subside.
