I wouldn't really consider OLP's music overly complex. I listen to a lot of bands that are "complex" and I don't like them as much as I do OLP. I honestly am a fan of OLP, or at least became one, because they write catchy songs that don't get old easily. The songs are easy on the ears and fun to sing along to. They were easy to get into and didn't require much concentration to appreciate the music. I think that was/is OLP's biggest drawing point, which differs from the "keeping point".
I'm not trying to deny the deep meanings and nice background noises that have kept me a fan of the band as I listened to them more and more, but it wasn't what intially drew me to them as your post implies.
i've only listened to Where Are You the performance (not the single) and i am no way close to loving the song but i still have some anticipation for the album. i understand people want more complicated songs (including myself) but i have to say there are definitely many great songs that are simple, too.

do you read your post that you write. First post you wrote and I quote "EVERYONE IS COMPLAINING" then in a later post say "WE ARE OLP FANS CAUSE OF TH E COMPLEXITY OF THEIR EARLY ALBUMS"
if that isn'tan assumption then what is it..
I do take it seriously cause you are lumping me into a group as to why I like or dislike OLP.. Same with everyone else on this board. If you feel that way, then say your opinion, but don' say stuff like EVERYONE or WE.. That is an assumption of the whole board of fans..
Dude settle down, you can't take every word he says litteraly, very few people here actually sit down and have a chance to go through and proof read or edit their post a million times so people like you can understand what he's trying to say.
Just because he said that "we are olp fans because of the complexity of there earlier albums" doesn't mean that he represents everyone. You have to take what everyone says with a pinch of salt and look at the point he's tyring to get across, which was, a lot of olp fan's liked the complexity of their earlier music.
Would you people please stop picking every word apart from every post.

But Gravity is more of a Pablo Honey than a Kid A. Which I think is why a lot of the fans around here started complaining, bitching, or whatever.
Yeah but musically Kid A was a lot different that Ok Computer, and Gravity is a lot different than SM. And honestly, I think with the exception of maybe 3 songs Gravity was a pretty good album for the type of sound they were going for.
Also, correct me if i'm wrong, but for some reason I've always thought that originally when Kid A come out that a lot of Radiohead fans shunned it. And really didn't like it because it sounded to computer enhanced and electronic. And not everyone cared for their change in direction, and in fact there was a backlash within their community. (like I said i could be wrong).

You're a fan, you have to look at the band critically, it isn't your duty to love everything they do just because they stamped their names on the album. If the CM turned into something like SM...that would just plain suck.
Of course there's nothing wrong with having different opinions but there are people here that clearly don't have anything positive to say about the band anymore. There are people here who come in and say that they've moved on and OLP isn't one of their favourite bands anymore. Well, goodie if you've given up hope but do you have to keep telling everyone about it. I don't know..too much negativity just grates on my nerves.
And if I don't make it known that
I've loved you all along
Just like sunny days that
We ignore because
We're all dumb and jaded
And I hope to God I figure out
What's wrong
What I really like about OLP is that, They Say they absolutely love 'Healthy in Paranoid Times', even though alot of people dont think 'Where are You?' is the greatest song in the world, they still love it, and they write music that they like, not music for other people. That to me is really genuine.

Well in all honesty if they didn't say they loved this record that wouldn't encourage too many buyers. We got the same story with Gravity, Spiritual Machines, Happiness and the like.
And for some reason, despite this being a carbon copy of Innocent with a little more pedal to the metal, this song, while not very good, IS growing on me, and I have no idea what it is.
I know what he meant, you don't have to simplify it for me. It's kind of hard to miss the point there, there's no need to insult my intelligence. I was trying to insinuate how ridiculous it sounds to say that OLP are the best band since the creation of the universe.
i didn't mean to insult you...the first time i read it, i actually didn't catch onto it right away, so i thought clarifying it a bit would help me, and possibly others. i'm sorry if i offended you or anything, i definitely didn't mean for it to be that way.
Sorry m'lady. I'm wound a little tightly right now. I totally over-reacted. I apologize, you have no reason to be sorry. You were merely trying to be helpful. It is appreciated.
