I doubt he'll be involved though unless he tells the people at Live 8 he wants to be a part of it. He doesn't have a good reputation in Canada and most people don't even know he's a political activist.

I know. I've often thought if I were sent to New Jersey to work near you guys, would I help Monkey get a job in my store. I wouldn't, not that it's anything personal I have against him, but it would be in the best interest of my company. Jim, those of us who have known Monkey for a while know about him taking things from his job. I won't go into a rant about it, but just know that I highly disapprove of it.

Dear Fresh Air Fund,
My week at camp last summer was crunk! I was ripping up the court from back to front to back to front. The people there were nice because they were fun to be around. It was my first time ever being at camp. If you lke food, come Camp on the Rock. If you like to have fun, come to camp. If you don't like bugs, still come to Camp on the Rock. I just ran for 20 minutes for the first time in like 2 weeks... It's surprising how quick you can get out of shape.

He actually stole stuff. But to be honest with you, Staples deserves it. They treat their workers like crap and pay them next to nothing for the amount of work they do. I've been trying to get him to quit that job and find a new one almost ever since the day he got it.

Stealing stuff isn't always bad. Well, except in the eyes of God. But with any luck, you won't have to deal with him for another several decades.

My stealing has been limited to a rolling chair I found next to a dumpster one night walking the dog. My brother and I took it home and used it for several years. It was marvelous (then it fell apart and we saw why it was thrown away).

Also ... how did Monkey manage to steal multiple desks? I mean, I can understand pens, small electronics, etc... But desks!? :lol:

It's probably easier than you think. Just dump it in the trash and grab it after your shift. I know a lot of people who work at Canadian Tire who do that. It's also really easy at Canadian Tire to switch pricetags because they usually have ladies working who know very little about the product and its actual cost. A guy on my hockey team puts 30 dollar price tags on 200 dollar sticks and they have no clue.

Not that I agree with it though. It's obviously wrong.

I didn't want to go on a rant about this subject but oh well. Stealing from anywhere is wrong. Especially the job that pays you. If you steal merchandise from your job and you wonder why you get low pay, then you are pretty damn stupid. If you take a $50 desk from your job, that's $50 more the company is going to have to make up somewhere down the road. If you make just above minimum wage, that's nearly an entire days worth of work for you. If you start having to cover a lot of losses the first two reactions are to raise prices or cut expenses, the first expense usually being payroll. Not only are you taking the money out of your own pocket, but you are taking it out of the pockets of all the employees at the store, and all the people who assembled the merchandise, and everyone who had anything to do with delivering it. It might be a minimal amount but you are still taking that money away that someone could be working their ass off to earn. Dumpster diving is just as wrong as stealing, and in fact it is usually the same thing. Most companies that throw away damaged merchandise mark the value of the item down to zero dollars essentially buying the merchandise and making it property of the store, or they receive credit from the supplier and it becomes the suppliers property. At my store if an item is still useable and is not something we get vendor credit on, we auction it off for charity. Stealing is always wrong no matter what reasons you think might justify it. No one appreciates having someone take money away from them.

I'm going to say yes it is. I can certainly understand doing it, but there are so many places that offer up free food and assistance. I don't know if they realize that when they steal for food they are putting themselves in risk of getting caught, going to jail, and losing their child because of it. There are tons of organizations out there designed to help out the needy, government and public/private alike. It's just a matter of educating the public about the resources available if they are needed.
