While listening to it, I got an overwheliming feeling that it shouldn't sound like this. Like it wasn't right for them to sound like that... then again, I felt the same way the first time I listened to World on a String, but I don't really anymore.

Um, this is just my opinion, but if you think Gravity was risky you need to expand your lexicon of artists that you listen to.

I'm gunna have to agree with who ever commented on the flow of the "come on, come on, come on" part that leads into the chorus for the first version of best day. I haven't heard the new version but since the original flowed like water, I can only assume if they've changed it's going to be for the worst.

*sigh.

have to agree with everyone previous. dunno how that chorus can sound.. hmm whats the word i'm lookin for... oh yeah.. good.

it seems its taking so long for it to come out that they keep going back and tryin to fix something thats not broken. i.e. both where are you and not afraid. and end up killing what sounded good in the first place.

all in all i am still looking forward to album and like most of the clips i've heard. but gotta say i'm a bit disappointed if the rumors are true and thats the first single.

although dont doubt olp... they always have time to delay, go back to studio and do it all over again=).

woah, on form today=).

also i doubt it was just to change one chrous, more likely to add little touches onto other songs and raine got one of his silly ideas. sigh.. what next... a kids choir?!

thank you! i also like it. i also think you can't really judge the song until you have it in it's entirety. it's one thing to say you don't like the clips, but it's another to say you don't like the entire song. after all, the entire song isn't there for you to judge.

that said, i do like the clip. i think i prefer it from the original. the song itself, though, i'm withholding judgement on until i can hear the entire thing. it may be completely different from what we get from the clip.

theo wrote:the promosquad clip shouldn't be read into as what the song will sound like in its final form. the clip sounds like they faded from the intro of the song, to the final portion of the song. there is a part before which may make the song sound more natural. i hope this makes sense.

Interestingly enough, I just thought about that this morning while I was going to the washroom. :freak: :wtf:

I'm not going to judge the song anymore until I hear the full version.

actually, that's exactly why i haven't heard the song ever.

the only thing i like about the new version is that it seemed that they did keep some of the Best Day of your Life stuff in there.

I hated the orginal version of Best Day. Well, I liked the original clip they played from their holiday greeting last year where the song was more mellow and sincere....(sniffle) but those days are gone...

I haven't decided on this yet.

What I have decided is that I'm going to stop listening to these clips (not that I've listened to them much anyway) and wait until I have whole songs - then I can really make my mind up.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

"Is it different now? Is it different..." Yes.. Yes it is  Whatever happened to the "i've been dreaming, of a place where I will run, kicking and screaming, and punching at everyone, and i've been dreaming of a world that's begun, where the fires are burning, and the colours bleed into one"? Like that was easily my favourite clip out of the ones that I heard on the CC but this Where Are You shenanigans just doesn't sound right. I don't know maybe it's just me cause i've become used to the old chorus so it sounds out of place but this just builds my anxiety about this album...

*What's with the overusage of the word "you" and "we" in there music now? What ever happened to writing about telephones, and radios, and hallways, and carnivals, and such... Meh i guess I'll wait to hear everything else... Can't wait tho til all my little annoying friends mock me for constantly saying how much "deeper" OLP is than there Slipknot garbage...*

I'm not even going to worry about this single, because I am supremely confident Angels Losing Sleep will be one of OLPs best songs ever. I'd say it's my little glimmer of hope the album will pack a punch, but it's not just a little glimmer.

This clip is breathtaking. I haven't listened to it in a while, and it's absolutely amazing. The only other OLP song that stirs this kind of emotion in me is Naveed, and this is only a crappy quality clip.

Angels Losing Sleep is pretty much the only song that has potential, in my humble opinion. Though I can't really say anymore till I get my hands on the disc.

I dunno, from what I've heard there are a few potential 'good' songs on the album, Don't Stop, Don't Ask Why, Picture, Will the Future Blame Us, Wipe that Smile off Your Face- pretty much everything except for Best Day (Where are You) and I wouldn't be surprised if World on a String just blows us away. Also, the music to Love and Trust sounds amazing. I wasn't a big fan of Best Day at all, it just seemed really tacky, cheesy and forced. I kind of prefer the new version in Where are You. Also, you have to remember that the transitions from verse-to-verse will be completely different on the album. It'll be interesting to see how many people change their view after hearing the entire song.

True, i've grown to really enjoy Angels and Don't Stop has begun to seem as if it's actually inspired... I just pray to god they don't screw with Angels or Picture cause those songs have got some serious potential... But then look at Wipe, the live version was brilliant until it became Bob "Rock"-ified...

I think they should cover Don't Start.
-Sarah

Goodbye you liar,
Well you sipped from the cup but you don't own up to anything
Then you think you will inspire
Take apart your head
(and I wish I could inspire)
Take apart your demons, then you add it to the list.
