Gotta agree with everybody here....... This new chorus just doesn't fit the song at all. I wonder what it was in Raine's mind that made this chorus better than the original.....

Also, am I the only one who thinks that this is not a good choice for the frist single? Nevermind the problems with the song itself (that chorus is really throwing me off, the rest is alright..) but just due to the fact it doesn't sound like the type of song OLP should be putting out after being gone from the spotlight for 3 years?

I mean, obvioulsy the record company is going to be looking for a hit single right off the bat with this album to re-establish OLP again... I guess I don't see that potential with this song. I mean, whether you like SOT or not (I'm not exactly partial to it), that track had top 10 hit written all over it. I don't see that with this track..... maybe it's just me though.

I have , I have. But i didn't mean it in that sense. Everybody's bitching about this track as the single because they don't like the song itself. They think it's crap (everybody has their own opinion...) I'm just wondering if this song actually does have the potential to become a huge radio track like Sony would want it to be....? I just don't hear that potential in this song. Almost any of the promosquad clips would have been better in my mind..... I still think that Will The Future Blame Us would have been a great lead single.

neoncrossing wrote:I cant believe they messed with that chorus....the original one was way better....i really cant believe they would put this new one on the album...it just seems so odd

the new one seems so off, whereas, the other one flowed nicely and was very catchy

and im not sure i like the idea of another anthem like innocent was

***and as a side note...what is with so many song titles beginning with the letter W
Will the future blame us
Wipe that smile off your face
Where are you
World on a string
???????

Hey,

I may have an answer to your question

if Walking in circles will be included on the album it will fullfill what I'm thinking

the 5 W's:

Who?
What?
When?
Where?
Why?

Maybe Raine is stressing to us that those are the answerable questions in life or why people or people with powers do the things they do except there has a be a "How"

How? ....how things happen in life are made by the choices WE make. There's so much assumption and jumping to conclusion and people who are "Healthy in Paranoid Times" tend to jump to conclusions and want a direct answer. Maybe that's the message the band is trying to put forth in the album.

Just my thoughts

Really... the first chorus sounded a lot better.

Sure, the lyrics were really cheesy, but at least it was extremely catchy and
"singalongable". I wonder why the guys decided to change it. I never really liked the original version, but I do remember thinking it might be the catchiest chorus Raine had ever written.

I, too, hope to God this was a decision made by Sony, and they said "this song is a pop hit, release it", because I believe from what I've heard that Angels Losing Sleep and Will the Future? would sit much better with the rock crowd.

I agree with whoever said that what we heard of the clips sounded a lot lot better than this. I heard three songs, at least, (ALS, WTFBU, Picture) that sounded like they had major potential, and Don't Stop sounded pretty cool and I wanted to hear more of the guitar work.

That being said, while my outlook is grim for the single, I still will accept the new album with open arms. Not only that, the quality of the Promosquad recording is extremely shitty, so hopefully a CD quality version will give me something I like.

As much as I wasn't a fan of "This could be the best day, best day, best day", it flowed much better. I was rather impressed with the flow from "Come on come on come on" to "This could be the best day..."

I'm very much not excited for this album.

^

it was much more catchy and flowy.. and now its like... odd bits and pieces of weird poprocky things. not that i loved the old version.

i agree that the new version is a sucky song and a even worse song when released as single. first of all, why did they change the chorus? (why do they always change the song for the worse?) i reeeely dont get it.
turn your head

All i can say is oh well. Horrible reflection of the good album. I just downloaded the long version (2:06) of Angels loosing sleep off the hub. This is not the one from clumsy congress. All i can say is its amazing! Sounds 100x better then on the hub. This is the best song on the CD so far! Everyone goto the hub and get the longer version if you havnt heard it. Same with will the future blame us. It boggles my mind why they wouldnt pick this or Will the Future blame us!! Angels loosing sleep would do amazing to promote the album!

i would say that they should have pushed dont stop as the single and then maybe will the future blame us or picture as a second one....but i guess sony knows best cause they pick the songs as far as i know.....best day would have been a good choice in its old form, but now the chorus of where are you is pretty darn weird
Is there something good, something more?
Is there anything worth dying for?

I'm confused.

From olp.cc "The first single is called "Best Days"."

Isn't this song called 'Where Are You?'
This is my story both humble and true,

I think we're reading too much into the "W" thing. I'm going to reserve my judgement until the single is released. I wasn't a big fan of "Best Day" anyways. I think that the version we heard in the christmas greeting was the best version.

I just think its a horrible rep. of this album. Its gonna be a good album too, and having this song will NOT make people buy it. Im really looking forward to hearing vampires, and the full version of angels loosing sleep. Vampires sounded good when the clip was released a while back, but it changed as we heard the clip of it during the videos released at olp.net. It sounds even better now. This album has major potential. I admit some songs do suck, like best day, but everything else is really good. Too bad they had to choose the WORST possible song  I just dont understand! 10 amazing songs and they picked THAT! WHY??

Those at the UCMMU were told by Duncan himself that Vampires was the last song cut from the album (or so I understand).

the promosquad clip shouldn't be read into as what the song will sound like in its final form. the clip sounds like they faded from the intro of the song, to the final portion of the song. there is a part before which may make the song sound more natural. i hope this makes sense.
