If there was nothing wrong with Polygamy Cass, why is it that your ancestors did it, but you dont? What changed?

God commanded us to stop doing it. It's sort of funny how we were forced out of the US, then forced back in.

We have a prophet of God. I believe Brigham Young was the prophet at the time that that was revoked. It was practiced sometimes in the Bible, not at others. As God commands.

God commands things all the time that guide us. God doesn't abandon us and expect us just to go off the things in the Bible for modern times. For instance, in the 70s God commanded that it was now ok to give black people the Priesthood.

By your theory of thinking, will your God one day say that Gay Marriage is okay, and so are Homosexuals?

I don't think Cass can say what God is going to say. Nobody can. This thread wasn't really made to pick on Cass' beliefs either, so maybe we should go back to what it was originally about.

Queens Of The Stone Age-Someone's In The Wolf

Once you're lost in twillights's blue
You don't find your way, the way finds you...

Tempt the fates, beware the smile
It hides all the teeth, my dear,
What's behind them...

So glad you could stay
Forever

He steps between the trees, a crooked man
There's blood on the blade
Don't take his hand

You warm by the firelight, in twilight's blue
Shadows creep & dance the walls
He's creeping too..

So glad you could stay
Forever

ya start a new thread about mormanism...

Anyways, I'm wondering what everyone thinks about whether they should hold the election soon or in February. Should the public hear the results of the Gomery report before voting?

February!!!!

Its only fair to show the results, and also it will give time for the public to forget about it and like the liberals again.

Ok, I won't post any more about this. Sorry guys, but it's hard for me to resist.

Rusty's right, I don't know what God is going to command. But everything he commands is something that you could see coming. Like, polygamy happened in the bible. Homosexuality was NEVER condoned in the Bible. So, although it could happen, I highly doubt it.

Surprisingly enough, I agree with you Rusty! That has to be a first. But seriously, like he said... there is no point in asking Cass. She would have no idea. I would presume at least.

And to answer your question Jim, I think an election should be held this June. The results of the Gomery report will have no affect on how I think about the Liberal Party now. They need to be held accountable- and the sooner the better. If it turns out that the rest of Canada would like to wait until the Gomery report, then I will respect that decision as well. But really, the public has no influence right now on when the election should be held. They should, but they don't. What do you think Jim?

So you would rather have a corrupt party in office than one who could actually get their job done?

I think the Liberals will lose either way. The truth is that the Gomery report will be national news when its announced in December, and so your reasoning Sinead that the people are going to forget about it seems rather unlikely.

Personally, I think the people have a right to hear the whole story. Simply because some of the people who have given testimony have shown the liberals to be heavily corrupt, it is up to Gomery to decide whether this is true or not. People are capable of lying or be deceitful. I mean obviously something funny did happen, but we won't know until Gomery's report whether this had anything to do with Martin, or if this was something Chretien did.

I mean, either way there was Liberal involvement, so the party will suffer, but I'd like to know whether this was the result of a few corrupt people, or if this was a large-scale effort that the entire party was in on.

Also, Sinead, when are you going to realize that the Conservatives won't win a majority government and therefore by themselves will not be able to put laws against abortion and gay marriages in place. At least with the conservatives we know what they're agenda is. The liberals showed this week that they can swing in whatever direction to make themselves stay in power. One second they're siding with the NDP, the next section a deal is trying to be hammered out with Harper.

Both of you make very valid points. My fear of having a conservative government really only extends over two issues, that of Gay Marriage and War. However, your point that their agenda has always been clear and out in the open as opposed to the Liberals money scam is a good one.

I suppose, for the sake of our economy, the Conservatives will do a better, or atleast lie-free job. The Liberals really really don't deserve to win the election, they've abused their positions and for it, they should pay.

However, I do think the election should be in February, for several reasons. First and foremost, letting the Gomery Enquiry results be published to all of Canada. Although there is very little doubt in the minds of almost everything that the liberals were in it knee deep, i'd rather it be truth than speculation.

My other reason, is that, holding two elections at once, in one province, is seriously asking to alienate the voters. Not only from the proposed federal election but also from our own provincial election, something which is of very high importance to me, moreso than the federal election because Campbell and his liberals have a direct impact on my life. Holding two elections within a month is very unfair to BC'ers, and even unfair to each of the federal parties, because on a whole, and this I dont understand, most people dont CARE. Its a frightening thought but its true, getting them to care about ONE is a huge deal, but two within a month, its too much.

However much the liberals messed up.. And they did...

The thought of the conservatives in power, and Stephen Harper as my prime minister makes me want to throw up, cry, and kill myself. ALL AT ONCE.

You will be paying taxes soon, and when you do you will be happy that most of your hard earned money isn't being wasted on programs and people that you aren't involved with.
