Eight face federal drug indictments
Charges unsealed Tuesday in Knoxville

Eight people are charged with conspiring to distribute over 2,200 pounds of marijuana in Jefferson County according to federal indictments unsealed Tuesday.
The prosecutor in the case, Assistant U.S. Attorney Hugh Ward, reported that the alleged conspiracy goes back five years and may have netted up to $3 million in illegal profits. The government has seized over $183,000 in the case, and has initiated proceedings to seize three houses, several vehicles, and other items, according to records in federal court.
