It's almost time to jettison this high school life.

Isn't a C- between 60 and 63%?
I can't wait until the day schools are over-funded and the military is forced to hold bake sales to buy planes.

idk, maybe at your school, but mcgill apparently doesn't have a C-. we go straight from a C (55-59) to a D (50-54).

Oh crap, I forgot about the Coleridge paper. Stop reminding me!

Also I can't decide whether McGill's ridiculously wide B range is a good thing or a bad thing.

At my university we had grades as follows (and hopefully Alex can help with greek letters since I'm too lazy to find them myself!)

Alpha plus (though no-one ever got that - my tutor described it as the grade you'd give to god!)
Alpha (no-one got that either - same tutor described it as 'the grade you'd give yourself')
Alpha minus (I got 2 of those ever. They made me very happy)
Alpha double-minus
Alpha-Beta
Beta-Alpha
Beta double-plus
Beta plus
Beta
Beta minus
Beta double-minus
Beta-gamma
Gamma-Beta
Gamma double-plus
Gamma plus
Gamma
Gamma minus
Gamma minus-minus

I'm not even sure those last few even exist, but maybe they do!

To get a 1st you had to average beta-alpha or better
To get a 2:1 you had to average beta-plus or better
And I can't remember what you had to get for a 2:2 or a 3rd.
Open your eyes to nights and days, you close them up and float away
and somehow inbetween you've got to master lying to yourself
you back the cause, get out of school, you get a job, the job gets you
and somehow every day you end up serving somebody else
now if that ain't panic that you're feeling, then you damn well better start
you can drive it into that head of yours with the hammer in your heart.

And it's alriiiiiiiight now, take the world and make it yours again.

Oops. I forgot to say that most of the time the tutors wouldn't let themselves be restrained to just those marks. You could very easily get something like:

beta triple plus ? plus ? alpha

gahhh it's not good having to write out the letter names :(

I think I'd get a gamma minus if you tested me on the scoring system alone  :wtf:

Hmm...

A-B
B-A

it almost makes sense except for the lack of an A ++
