I dunno, I thought that there weren't all that many threads talking about Rowan's future, at least not recently, and that the speculation would be so absurd that it could be nothing but amusing. If a noob had created this thread, I certainly wouldn't be bashing him.

Even if I had made this a thread about something like the new songs, such as my new songs v2.0 thread, the reason I would probably be able to get away with doing it is because I have been around long enough to build up a personality that at least some of the people here are familiar with. Among other things, I sometimes try to make amusing parodies of other people's threads. Noobs don't have the luxury of having any known personality, so people will be faster to flame them than they would me or someone else who has been around for a while. Unfortunate, but I think not necessarily hypocritical.

Hey Josh,

Your thread is fine....don't have a problem with it. But if you are going to post this kind of stuff, lets make sure that newer members don't get flamed for posting threads that are far more relevant and with much better intentions. Your thread was meant to be funny, but to me its a slap in the face because some impressionable fans who just came to the site get a lot of backtalk instead of open arms.....

I don't mean to single you out because you are a pretty cool guy....most of you guys are. But I sense a lack of maturity by older posters in their treatment of noobs and it really gets to me. Its taken a long time for my feelings to get strong on the matter because I use to just blow it off. But now I'm really sick of it.

I'm sure if I knew you guys a little better I would be far more receptive. I admit I fly off the handle now when i perceive something I deem unfair. I did it to Matt earlier and I was wrong (not in principle but for the situation).......but the overall impression I'm getting is unmistakable..........I hope you guys think about it in the future.

You know I don't think noobs get treated badly. When I first came here I asked some stupid question about where to get downloads and something that had been asked a million times (which I think I still do). I think I got teased (I wouldn't call it flaming) and I got over it. I unerstand that when you come to a new board that these questions are repetitive and annoying. Maybe it's not just us, eh?

Other Matt... if noobs can't handle being teased a little bit when they first join the board... they really shouldn't be here. We treat each other just as harshly as any noob.

It's all in good fun, and anyone without a sense of humor about themselves just doesn't belong here... so it's really best they get scared away in the beginning, rather than sticking around and THEN realizing we're all jerks to each other. :lol:
