Anyone Feeling A Little Cheezed?

Post by Me&MyOneManArmy »

Ever since last March/April we've been playing the waiting game, then we heard the cd will be done in 2004, and be out at the beginning of '05, then we heard Feb for a single, then we heard March for a single, now we're hearing July for an album. I know there's alot of work involved into a cd, but maybe OLP could send a few songs our way that aren't going to be on the cd just to wet our lips a bit, I mean, we can't even be sure that the album will come out in July, either they're screwing around with the release date so nobody knows anything and can't bootleg it, or they're trying too much to perfect the cd.....anyone here a little cheezed off about this waiting game?

P.S = Anyone know when OLP started mixing the album?

i don't know if i'd go as far as to say that they owe us some sort of explaination, but yeah I am seriously pissed. i mean, they dont have to give us songs that are on the album. maybe a couple of the 40 or so that didn't make the album.

and josh, we're talking about stinky blue cheese

blue cheese is nasty, my ex-girlfriends thighs looked like ricotta cheese in a clear plastic bag stepped on by a bunch of football players wearing cleats.

Again, there's never been (and still isn't) any official release date. That's why people have been warning not to put much (if any) stock into these rumours.

Yea, I'll agree with you, I am getting a little pissed at them. I mean their are those that say OLP don't owe us anything, to that I say bullshit, I've bought their albums I've supported them at concerts, I've baught their merchandise, OLP does owe me something because if it weren't for people like me they wouldn't even exist. And the fact of the matter is every other band that is releasing something this comming year has kept it's fans up to date with information; with olp we get hardly anything, maybe a pic or so of them in the studio and a message saying that they're going to release an album at somepoint but thats it.

So yeah I'm pissed, pissed that they keep changing the release date, pissed that they aren't announcing anything, pissed that they aren't calling into radio staitons to let us know they still care about the people that support them, and pissed that they're working on eveyone else's music before putting out a new cd of their own.

Maybe I'm being a bit selfish, but I've been supporting this band for a long time, and have helped spread their fan base amongst my friends and I feel as though they couldn't give two shits about us.

PS Shut the fuck up. How's that? Normally I would type a reply like this and just never post it, but really. Can you not look back at how many different threads there are on this board speculating about release dates and such? You did get a song that wasn't going to be on the CD last year when they put Not Afraid on the Labatt sampler. You also got clips of new songs in the Holiday greetings. Our Lady Peace doesn't owe you, me, or anyone a damn thing. There has never, and please read this closely, never ever been an official release date. It has never been pushed back by anyone ever, because there was no release date to begin with. Only a speculated one. I hope they take all the time they want and then some to release the album. I hope they work on it until they are happy with what they have done. Chances are if they aren't satisfied with their work, none of the rest of us will be either. I'm sorry to be a dick, but you really should have known it was coming.

This is the first time we've heard one of the band members give a specific month for a release.

As a matter of fact, I'm happy they are taking their time to make the album as good as it possibly can be. If the music is good, waiting until May to hear a single is nothing. From what Steve said on OLP.net, I think the band understands fans are getting restless.

I'm just glad to finally have word from one of the guys' mouths.

I'm hardly feeling "cheezed" at all, really.

Whoopie shit, they're making us wait. The band never really released an official date in the first place. And, the production of a record takes time.

It will come when it comes. People will (most likely) bash the hell out of it, anyway, because it's not "original" enough, or it doesn't have the same substance as their old albums.

Without you I'm as good as
dead ...

Wow, without you, Raine, Jeremy, Duncan, and Steve wouldn't EXIST?!? You their father or something?

Really, now. Shut up and get over yourself.

Notice I wasn't saying myself directly I was saying "people like me" as in other fans, like you, that support them. And yes, if no one baught thier albums, went to see them in concert, or bought their merchandise they wouldn't be a band, they would've moved on to other things long ago.

That doesn't mean anything. That's like saying if you work producing, say, car parts... everyone that owns a car owes you something. It's a job.
