What Are Your Hopes For The Next OLP Tour?

A new OLP album due out this spring/summer, will bring a relentless touring schedule to support the record. We all have our own personal ideas of what they should play live, what old songs they should bring back, and what songs should never leave their live repertoire. If somehow it was left up to you what got played what would you like to hear or see?

Personally, I think it would be cool if they changed up their set list from night to night, they don’t have to be huge changes but rather small deviations from the norm, integrating some rarities like “Hope” and "Car Crash" that we haven’t heard in awhile. I’d also like to see Raine come out and play the piano version of Julia with Steve playing the guitar part. It’d also be cool to see “The Wonderful Future” become a permanent member of the set list.

But these are just pipe dreams of mine, the most important thing is for them play songs that they enjoy playing.

I dont wanna hear what the songs from Happiness and SM are goin to sound like...with them being "stripped down" and all.

I say, that they go for a Canadian tour first...though that wont happen.

But hey, other people have alcohol or cigarettes or drugs or other vices... I have OLP (and other!... I'm not THAT obsessive

) shows... at least the only thing I'm damaging is my hearing. :nikki:

My hopes are that they come to boston play the Avalon, Fleetcenter, and my living room, (doesn't have to be in one night) and then crash at my house.

It would be cool if they could do what Green Day did, and have two or three small club shows, where they play the entire album from beggining to end.
Other than that, I want what I think all of you pretty much want, Car Crash, Wonderful Future, Big Dumb Rocket, and Blister. Oh, and Made of Steel, I don't think we have a live version of that song.

I want them to play songs they rarely play live now like you guys..specifically "Annie", "Carnival", "Hope", "Potato Girl", "Blister", "Made to Heal", and "Sell My Soul".

For your hopes to be fulfilled, Steve would have had to have learned all of these songs while writing and recording new material.

Remember, Steve isn't Mike - he only knows a handful of the old songs. Besides which, he (along with the rest of the band) would probably rather showcase their new work rather than continue to play the older songs written and recorded by a very different band.

At the same time, though, I don't really think a changing setlist is important. Are you going to see every show? Or are you even likely to see more than one show on a tour? By having the same (or at least a similar) setlist at each show, they're ensuring that fans across the country get the same experience at a show.
